What movie did you enjoy the most that you never thought you would like ?
I\'m not massochistic so if I don\'t think I\'ll like a movie then I won\'t subject myself to two hours of misery on the off chance it won\'t be that bad.

Now for movie you thought you\'d like but didn\'t I\'d have to go with David Bowie\'s \"The Man Who Fell to Earth.\" I felt physically ill leaving that one.

Just to toss in another one I liked a lot but most folks either haven\'t heard of or didn\'t like: Wizards by Ralph Bakshi

Well, my all-time favorite would have to be DUNE. The plain director\'s cut. NOT the crappy, wanna-be-like-star-wars TV shat
I recently checked out Dune from the library thinking it was the director\'s cut of the film (which I haven\'t seen but heard was a c-change improvement on the release). Turned out to be the Sci-Fi channel mini-series, and I quite enjoyed it - even though William Hurt is nowhere near my image of Duke Leto.
I grew up with the Avalon Hill board game of Dune long before I ever read the book, and the movie makers must have too because they carried over the color schemes from the game into the movie (atreides=green, bene=blue, emperor=red etc.)

Far to many good movies to be able to single out just one but in no particular order here are a few of my favourites:

Blade Runner (not the directors cut)
No Way Out
Aliens Special Edition
All 3 LOTR Extended Versions
Pirates of the Carribian
Star Wars
Dune
Phantom of the Opera
Highlander
Good Morning Vietnam (can\'t listen to half that music anymore without thinking of napalming villages)
Zulu (bloody thousnads of them)
The Mummy
The Mummy Returns
All the Indiana Jones Films
Romancing the Stone
Jewel of the Nile
The Wedding Singer
Happy Ever After

Did anybody ever see \"The 10th Kingdom\" it was shown over here as a series on Sky TV and a very good series as welll I thought:D

This list could go on and on but a lot of other good ones have already been mentioned.

Dammit.. :( when I saw a thread asking \"Whos up for a movie\" by Becca I thought it was the offer of a date! *puts his best suit away*

Mine would be either Shawshank Redemption or the original black and white version of The Haunting...

pick one? umm.... the Haunting.
