Why Americans are Fat

HERE HERE! This is what it boils down to for many things. Blaming someone else, or saying it was someone else\'s job to make sure it was done right, than to do so yourself.

I am 6\'3\" and only once hit 200 lbs. I wish I could gain weight, and even sitting on my butt all day doesn\'t do it. I eat any less than I do a day and I pass out.

People just need to take responsibility for their own actions.

We are gonna be paying taxes for people who don\'t know how to eat properly to be in hospitals where it could be used to fix other things.

How about we all go back on ration books for a while? Couple months of that might get some people eating right, or let them learn they gonna have to find out how to real darn fast! Cause no matter how much money you have, you cannot have more than X of certain types of food.

Then again, maybe they would just still eat junk food if that was done. :(

best way to use bmi is with bady fat % as well. it\'s useless as a stand alone unit. one of my mates is a male model, looks like a condom stuffed with walnuts with his top off but he is obese according to his bmi

Tim, Paul (The Bootie) has just been told he\'s obese.

5\'11\"and 15 stone of active, rugby playing, well muscled copper, who can still run a mile in 6.5 minutes.
Obese..., my sweaties

....and I bet that when the doctors (or whoever) did this calculation for these two men and announced they were obese, they then said, \"Well of course in your case there\'s nothing to worry about.\" So here we have a test that gives out false results and the doctor has to backpedal and tell you that it means nothing for you. Ridiculous. Why even bother doing it then?

(Can anyone tell that I\'m not a fan of the BMI measurement yet? lol)

yeah it\'s fair enough. i say take a % body fat measurement and multiply it by the bmi to get a better number. you have more scope as the number is higher too. i call it the manning measurement (thats me)!
edit - @dr - although he may be very fit (i\'m sure he could kick seven shades of shit outta me and run rings around me), he can still be overweight. the problem is when, as with most men, you get more body fat on the torso. it puts more pressure on the heart and lungs

i\'m sure he\'s fine though, he\'s not exactly podgy is he?! (not that i would call him that to his face anyway!)
