Why don\'t people vote

I have checked my gallery and noticed that of the minis I have waiting to break the 50 votes mark (so I can zoom up the ratings lol ) they all have way more than enough views, but not near enough votes.

Is it because they are not GW? Because I suck at painting? I forgot my deoderant? Why? why?

This is not a plea for everyone to go and vote on MY stuff. I am just trying to understand the votes/views ratio, not draw the laser dots.

usually they just don\'t like either candidate.

But it could be that they are waiting for an absentee ballot.

Just kidding. Every time you click over to the forums you leave one mini un-voted on. Every time you click back to the gallery, or close a window, or go the CMON shop, you leave a mini without voting.

You could also look at it this way. People like your minis so much they are coming back over and over again to look. They have already voted, so they don\'t want to vote again.

But, you do bring up a good point, the ratio of \"views to votes\" always seems to be skewed.

I\'ve noticed the same thing

and it frustrates me, but I think Barkel has it surrounded. The way the site works, you can\'t really avoid it.

Now, as for ideas to get people to vote, I have considered started a \"minis for clicking\' campaign, where I would gove someone a mini from my collection (unpainted) if they click on my stuff.

Then I realized that If I have stoopid amounts of bare lead, so does everyone else, so I guess I\'ll just wait.

Twiddling my thumbs.

If you look around you can see that statistically a mini receive 1 vote every 10 view, so you Votes/views ratio is really good. The problem are the views not the votes. :)

take a look at the top artist:
1) victoria:
(9281 votes, 144865 views)

2) philippe:
(4602 votes, 45541 views)

3) fluffy:
(1604 votes, 16527 views)

ect:)

B) They are too lazy
C) Jealousy (But better than Sniping!)
D) Bleh! Don\'t like that.
E) Argh That\'s awful!
F) There\'s 40000 Plus images on the site.
G) People have decided that they can\'t vote on an image because they would vote according to their consience and mark it down and then seem to be Sniping

And those are the reasons I could think of off the top of my head,

I think barkel nailed it straight away.

Every time you visit the home page in order to go to a gallery/visit the shop/join the forums that is a view without a vote.

If you think about it, unless you have voted on everything, you can only achieve a personal best of (votes = views - 1). If you kept your votes = to your views you would never be able to leave the site:D

That\'s not all.

Creep, if I\'m not mistaken, was written about Phil Collins.

The story goes like this. Phil was losing popularity quickly in the early 90s. In truth, he had actually assassinated his career when he covered \"You Can\'t Hurry Love,\" on an album I bought in high school because I needed another reason for people to kick my a$$.

Anyway, he was desperately seeking a fresh start, so he checked the want ads in the London Tribune. There he read, \"fresh new band seeks drummer, that can perhaps sing.\"

Naturally Phil thought of himself. At first he assumed that he would get in the band and then take over as he did with Genesis. And for a while he had a good deal of control.

He got in their good graces by throwing around a lot of money and pretending he knew Peter Gabriel. He even managed to convince them to change the name Hip Radio Playing In My Head to Radiohead. He also introduced the band to Pink Floyd and huffing scotch guard. Hitherto the band\'s only influences had been Whitesnake and Patrick Duffy.

But the love affair was short lived. It only took one recording session for them to realize that all of their songs were beginning to sound like \"Invisible Touch.\" Finally they confronted Phil and kicked him out of the band. Their parting was listed by the record label as \"amicable:\"

Phil said, \"Lick my b*ll sweat. Your understated music isn\'t going anywhere.\"

And Thom said, \"why don\'t you go write Disney tunes.\"

Phil then punched Thom in the eye and it has never healed right.

Though Phil pretened to want nothing to do with the band after that, he stalked Thom for months, sending him roses, chocolate and a dead cardinal every Wednesday. Thus, Phil is the \"Creep.\"

joking, aside I know i have voted on a hand full of your minis before. I just don\'t know when. The stupid logout bug on this site probably had me logged out at the time.

As for the votes/view ratio. I am not sure I think sometimes it has to do with people coming on the site and just browsing. some people don\'t care to vote they just want to look. Only voting on minis they dispise or love. Some times people have a stopping point.. like.. ok this is the last mini I vote on... votes... next one opens... closes window. just guesses/observations.


personaly I like elton johns song \"blessed\" as for what he has sucked I don\'t want to know.

Well Elton John didn\'t always suck, he was married for a while wasn\'t he;)

As for voting I tend to overscrutinize minis when I vote, so typically I don\'t vote. It may sound odd, but when I\'m voting I focus on flaws in minis, but when I\'m just browsing I enjoy them more and see them more as a whole.

The downside is that it doesn\'t give people feedback if I don\'t comment/vote. I think I will vote more when I get stuff posted, whenever that is:rolleyes:
