My girlfriend\'s mother actually ENJOYS the sci-fi channel movies. She had to sit through \"Spiders\" and \"Decoys\" twice.
But this is a woman who thinks \"Congo\" is a great movie.

The price for the lamest \"contemporary fantasy\" movie goes to \"Faust\" for me. It\'s... well, it is SUPPOSED to be based on the book Faust, but basically you have a guy with claws (got those from Mephisto of course) who turns into a masked and caped super hero and fights a generic cult that resurrects \"The Homunculus\" (some kind of fire-breathing demon worm thingy).

I don\'t mind a cheesy sci-fi movie, if that is the way it was intended. Kind of tongue in cheek...
The ones that really bother me are the Sci-fi movies intended to be serious, but are so poorly done it is an embarassment to even watch them. :flame:

But we can\'t have a discussion of the worst movies without Plan 9 from Outer space (3.9).. the only thing is with that movie, it\'s so cheesy and bad, it becomes a comedy! I actually heard Bela Lugosi died while making it and they just got someone to put the cape over thier face for the rest of the movie.. Sheesh...

No one has mentioned any Troma films as being particularly bad. Can\'t forget The Toxic Avenger or Class of Nuke\'Em High.

Actually, That movie was based on an indy comic book of the same name, not the book. This origin has no impact on it\'s lameness.![]()

The Troma films are just a hoot! Surf Nazis must Die, was a classic, but my favorite was Amazon Women and the Avocado Jungle of Death. A movie title that just screams, watch me!
