This isn\'t true to all the GDs. It mostly depends if the judges are artists/slayer winners or not. If they\'re artist/slayer winners they won\'t follow, in general, your 3 rules.Message original : atacam
I have this on very good authority, from someone who was involved with the judging.
They pick the minis on a few things.
1 what is the newest army(wont always win overall, but will definatley place)
2 how well will it photograph
3 Know artists, they tend to do a little better, unless they have seriously cheesed off the company.

Yes. For instance, this year\'s FR GD judges will be David De Abreu (main judge, he does all the major dioramas for GW (remember the Chaos drop-ship and the Lustria city-temple, those were his works; he also has an awesome Slaanesh WH40K army)), Gil Charpenet (director of the french WD) and Jérémie Bonamant-Teboul (well ... you all know who he is, if not, look at \"bragon\"\'s galleryMessage original : Orb
do I assume that\'s the French Golden Demon Cedric? Do they decide on the the first cut as well?
So very trueMessage original : Orb
And once again it illustrates that GDs well be judged on differing things in different countries.
