C'mere kids! Gather round, it's storytelling time! Yes Cass, that means you too, just because you're old doesn't mean you can't sit down!
Last post in October; damn, time flies like a murder of crows towards a carcass. Speaking of, there's a murder of maybe 2-300 jackdaws nesting just a hundred meters or so outside the window of my new apartment. They make quite a bit of noise when they feel like it! There's been a lot going on between then and now, to start with I finally got a stable employment in October, albeit only on 50% but it's a start. In November I moved to a new apartment and packing up took a -lot- longer than I had planned, last time I moved we were two and had a plan, this time I was just getting away.
Sadly the ship was damaged in the move and since I was using it as a way to increase my already lacking motivation my pride and will took a pretty heavy hit. Again. So, I placed it on a shelf to sit there and ponder its wrongdoings.
In December my woman came to visit and stayed until January, since we don't see each other very often I put everything aside to be with her as much as possible.
January came and I felt that something had to be done about the slight depression I had so I started to once again force myself to paint and clean and build and do stuff. It's amazing how hard it is to cheer yourself up when you're not quite certain why you're down but I managed to work up an interest in the hobby again.
Last month is when I really saw things taking a turn for the better.
It stopped being difficult to grab the brush and tools and the ideas started coming naturally again. (I've got a bunch of painted wolves to post in the other thread actually) And after a while I started looking at the ship again. When I looked at her with fresh eyes I realised the damage wasn't even close to as catastrophical as I had thought it was when it happened and soon the work in progress was back to almost where I left it, with just a few pieces missing. But that's just a great opportunity to show you my awesome skills at plasticard doodling.
Some time during the year I'll be moving again, this time to change cities and get me a full time employment in a smaller city. If I'm lucky I'll be able to afford a small house there and then I can just maybe finally start acting out on other small dreams I've had.
And that's that basically, there's been a lot going on and there's more coming but for now I've got a few moments where I can relax and get back to doing what I enjoy again.
(Yes, there'll be updates pretty soon, and yes, better ones, with pictures.
