So we are all wired up and Im pretty happy with how it looks. The cowl is lit up and it also lights up the face from below a bit. Not sure if its too bright but I can always add in a resister to make the LED less bright.

Ive also made it so that I have a connecter for the wires so I will be able to take Horus off his big base. He wont be lit up but it means he looks good for display and he can be used for games. Hopefully that will give him a bit more interest when hes up on flee-bay.

Not major progress but something (its been a busy week with the kids I teach having exams). Ive mixed up a colour Im happy with for how I imagine the Sons of Horus "green" colour. Ive also got the leather done (I imagined something a little worn but not too much so hopefully that comes across. Ive also started the red gems (more to do there but need them done before I do the gold for the armour detailing.

Got the gold and jems done on the leg (just a little battle damage to do). I went for steel for the rivets instead of gold (didnt want anything too bling). The gold also makes the green look a little darker to me. Hoping to make some headway this weekend.

So its been a busy long weekend painting (and general life) wise. Ive finished the gold and got most of the body now done.

Ive also made the green a little more contrasted (though the lack of light makes it just look darker at the moment) but Im happy with it. Now onto the base and cloak.

Cheers Necro.

The paints I needed for the face arrived today (good timing). So thats been the project of this evening.

Im really happy with how it turned out (despite the not great photo, sorry about that). Now onto the cloak! So close to being done!

Got the big man finished. Really happy with his he looks and Ive wired the electrics up with a connector so that I can take him off his base for use in game. Im always loving practicality :p (of course he wont be lit up when without his base.

As you can see the cowl of this armour lights up and gives s alight lighting on his face. Whats interesting id that the glow on the face is only very slight when Id expected more. I mean this shows what would actually happen IRL and how wrong I would have been if I had painted the glow myself.

Comments and criticisms always welcome before I put him up for sale (unless anyone wants to make me an offer :p)

Great job love the led, most of the time we paint with our imagination OSL is something you can go crazy with. Nice to see what it actually would be like.

Yeah it was interesting to see the reality of the lighting being less extreme. On another forum someone has asked for a pic in less lighting to see what it looks like then so I will get that done soon.

The model is up for voting if anyone has time:

Overall nice. A couple areas for improvement; the wolf pelt seems dull which i think would be helped by more contrast. The face and red cpe seem...plastic, if that makes any sense. Do not have any ideas for the face, but i think a brighter highlight on the cape would help it.

Very cool and fast work.

Thanks for the excellent constructive criticism KruleBear. I have to dissagree on the face (Im really happy with it) but I will definitely get onto your other suggestions. Thanks a lot. Its only with comments like that Im going to improve.

No prob....it may be glare in the pict with the led on, as it looks more matte in the last pict with the led off.

Both of your models look cool as! Any way you can make the LED in Horus's armour pulsate?

That would be cool.

Good luck on the auction.

So Ive taken you're great advice and gone for some more contrast on the cloak, pelt and face. I also took the chance to touch up some of the armour so these is a bit more of a highlight.

Take a look:
