Hi Alex
Finished the piece yet?
Yes, you want to teach, but do you think you have anything you can learn?
My comments didn\'t have substance? To me they did, I thought long and hard about it and you dismissed them out of hand.
Congratulations on having been around for 30 years . Myself, it\'s 29 years.
\"Almost done…I just have to go over some tone work on the base, the back of the base and finally pastel it.\"
\"First of all, when I post, I indicate whether the piece is finished or work in progress. This piece is a WIP\"
your first statement implies it\'s near completion and the work required is on the base. My comments were regarding Conan.
\"You are implying that my work because it’s in a larger scale can’t stand up to close scrutiny!\"
no, i am saying it\'s hard to give close scrutiny of a large scale piece when it has been reduced in size in a photo.
\"your comment that it would be “nice to see more Alex and less of an almost total reproduction of the original painting, is implying that I have no creativity\".
NO!!! It\'s meant as I wrote it! It wasn\'t meant to imply that. I\'ll say it again; I\'d like to see more of Alex in the piece. Simple. I even qualified that statement by saying I understood it was a commision.
\"that is why my figures resonate with life\"
Well, you are entiltled to your opinion
I also notice you\'ve gone quiet again.
People in this thread have asked legitimate questions as I re-read it. If you\'re here to teach then maybe you could do them the courtesy of answering them. Including myself.
Here\'s hoping to see the finished piece. Where I may re-evaluate my opinions on seeing it.
Enjoy
