interior decoration ideas

squaddies are squaddies no matter what era they live in so bearing that in mind you are gonna need girlie calanders for the walls as well as some graffiti the ciaphas cain novels have stuff that might be useful at the head of the chapters \"the emperor protects\", \"when in mortal danger when beset by doubt run in little circles wave your arms and shout\", also these baneblades are huge would they not have an \"emperor\'s head\" (indoor toilet)just the door leading to it no need to build a real gary glitter. maybe lockers for the tankies gear and weapons wracks, squaddies like their creature comforts espescially tankies so a boiler for hot water/tea making facilities and minature kitchen might help fill up the front. believe me ive seen this type of stuff in the 60 tonne challengers so its not that far fetched:D

Oh, the Possibilities... \'The 998.M41 Topless Tank Girl Guard Calendar\' stuck to the wall, proudly displaying Miss march on her Baneblade... :p

Sooo on theat side cutout, where are you going to put the humongous generators?

here is a quick mock up on where the generators will be placed:

And now I\'m off to the store to find some transparent cable. see you soon!

are\'nt those \"mock up\" generators a bit small.....
what are you planning, something like a coils as you see on plasma weapons, or something like those tesla coils that orks like so much?

There\'s one of the pictures that inspired me to do the reactors that way, they will cover almost the entire wall upwards and halfway to the front as well, that is effectively a third of the entire interior, in my eyes that is just about enough. lol
Those tubes I made there were only the parts which were going to be lit up...

mad completely mad, by the time your finished wiring this thing up you\'ll need your own nuclear power plantlol

I LOVE IT! :D

That one goes into the special folder! (The one I am yet to create. :D )

EDIT: It is now officially my desktop background. :D

Hehehe, nice poster!

But for the reactor, it feels like those things should be way bigger than that to fuel that humongous cannon. Why not use the most part of the from section to house one large circular reactor? I\'m pretty convince that that would look way cooler and realistic that just two small tubes on the side. Those things, cool as they are, don\'t look as if they could produce anywhere near enough plasma to be able to fire even one shot, let alone multiple shots.

Why not go for something like the Arch Reactor from the Ironman film? I mean the big reactor they had in that building., I couldn\'t find a pic of it but here are some pics of the smaller reactor. I think something along the lines of this would look spot on.

Well, here we have my idea and the reasoning behind it:

7197547c-2e53-4593-abe6-e00a22614974_1024x768.jpg

There already exists plasma reactors in the 40k universe that are advanced enough to hurl bolts 24\" away and still fit in the palm of your hand, those reactors are built into the gun itself instead of being external.
When looking at a plasma gun, the coils you see on the back of the gun are really the cooling around the reactors.
It is only logical to presume that would be the case with the Larger weapons as well, only that they need a small push to get the increased power output needed.
Now, I know that this weapon is a HUGE version of those I just described but still, this will be two reactors running one weapon and each reactor tube I\'m using is the length of one and a half space marine (effectively over 3 meters in length irl) and they\'re both so wide you can put a space marine torso inside it.
Now, I cannot translate that to irl measures but I\'d say that with those small ones in mind powering the other guns, two the size of entire house walls should be able to cream out just a tiny bit more juice than the single palm sized one already capable of melting tanks...

And remember, That interior is still so large you can almost fit a rhino inside.

Just for reference, I myself often forget how large this model actually is, I have some pictures here that might give you a fair idea of it.

1 huge gun?

i\'ve very little experience with these baneblades but what you are saying chrome about two generators powering the one gun seems flawed, for instance arent there two muzzles at the end of the barrell? just bearing in mind the recharge time of these weapons and the fact they overheat it seems logical to me that you would have two of everything and fire the two systems alternatly thus giving you time to cool one system down and re charge while the other one doesnt leave you on the battle field twiddling your thumbs and hoping no one notices the big defenceless lump of mettle sitting there waiting to be taken out, but its only a thought im just trying to reason it out seeing as we seem to be getting into the fluff up to our earslol two of everything your reactors included A GOOD THING:D

You make a valid point on the other plasma weapons out there and in the end all that matters if it looks cool or not and what you\'ve got in the pipeline definitely looks good.

I\'ll post the naked links from my previous post here.

But in my defense of a larger reactor. the Plasma Blastgun is a titan weapon stuck on a tank and on a titan the humongous weapons is fed by the humongous reactor that takes up a good 1/3rd of a titan\'s body. And since even on a titan\'s reactor the weapon has a recharge time, it seems logical that in a much smaller tank, the output capacity should be similar...

Anyways, the decision is yours of course, I\'m just rambling on because I\'m a big sucker for \'Plausible Realism\' but I also know that within the confines of GW\'s design philosophy that\'s like balancing on a beach ball while juggling cats and trying not to get scratched...

Look at that halfwall of text!

My friend Jkos did point something out to me yesterday, The reactors powering the weapon are indeed still inside the Gun itself. What the Imperials do mount inside their vehicles are more advanced cooling systems(That\'s why the vehicle-mounted guns don\'t overheat). With him mentioning that I did remember hearing it before. But I still like thinking about it as plasma reactors, a coolant system just isn\'t as cool as glowing reactors (do note pun lol). But since we are discussing making the coils glow on the gun anyway all those who are notorious about getting it right can just think of them as coolant systems. And to justify the coils being transparent, well all you who are Trekkie fans out there have already heard of transparent aluminum. ;)

As for the gun having two muzzles, I believe you are somewhat on the right track there. I believe the reasoning they put behind them is the split profile of the weapon, it shoots either one shot at 96\" range, strength 10 AP 2 with the 10\" blast or two shots at 72\" range, strength 8 AP 2 with the 7\" blast.
So, I\'d say that the one shot either is one overcharged jumbo shot or that it represents a simultaneous firing with both muzzles with just slightly more added energy for the range when it comes to explaining the strength of that simultaneous blast we all who know about the 40k world know that 8+8 is, in fact, 10. lol

And Meph, I really hope you didn\'t take offense in my rant yesterday, I read through it today and almost found it hostile, it was definitely not intended to be in any way, I do want you to keep commenting and criticize, that is what makes me think about what it is I\'m doing.

I really hope I will get something productive done today, lots of life poured into my day yesterday but I wasn\'t able to get rid of it proper. I know I will be done with it today though, question is, at what time? lol

And there you all have a block of text to skim through at least! :D (I think I shall go sneak some modeling in right away, before life grabs me for today. ;))

No offense taken whatsoever mate. I\'m a Graphic Designer and 3D artist by education and trade since 10 years, and giving/taking criticism and counter-criticism is kinda the \'make or break\' thing in arts school. Literally, I\'ve seen people break down in tears and incomprehensible jibber-jabber... :D
Having survived that, plus the fact that I\'ve been also doing Customer- and high-end Global IT support for over half decade, I\'ve developed some sort of zen elephant skin when it comes to these matters. I know from experience that it usually pays off to have a \'naysayer\' around who will always point out the alternative or the contrary to ensure that the idea or concept is as solid as possible. ;)
