WIP: Stormblade with interior

Maybe i\'m just mad, and these are just the mad ravings of my deranhed mind..... or i\'m a genius.....

wouldn\'t it be cool to have something like a cord of LEDs, flickering on and off, in sequence.
starting at one end, and ending at the other end....
this would look as if there\'s a current or something running through the coils....

as i said, i might just be crazy....... or genius

It definitely would be cool. I have been housing that idea for months now, I\'m not sure if I dare put that effect on this particular model though, mostly because of the fact that it was ages ago that I handled IC-circuitry and I\'m afraid that it wouldnt turn out the way I want it to

you could set up a test, to see if you still got what it takes.
if that works out well, you could always agree to incorporate the effect into the mini....

True that. And since I\'m going to keep it serviceable it would be easy to incorporate the new circuit into the old after the model is done and finished.

And now it is time for a short update.
A rather nice package arrived for me yesterday so I decided to upgrade something else than just the cannon.

Thats right, I got a hold of some hinges.
Almost perfect in scale as well if you ask me! That had to be celebrated with some added exterior details.

Ok, after a short while of dormancy here I have now decided to give you people a small update, sadly I haven\'t had time to play as much as I had wanted to, me and my girl having our anniversary and graduating friends and things like that. But, here is a small one at least, enjoy!

And thank you fiesta0618 for the lovely idea with the micro glass marbles, hours of work are now mere minutes. ^^

Ok, here\'s one for a real update. After fixing this guy\'s hood for the third time I decided to give you guys a small update and just do something else while the green stuff cured.

And as a side note, we are painfully out of ice cold coke and I\'ve got a serious urge right now...

Anyways... KA-UPDATE!

I seriously need to rig myself a light box and convince my missus that we definitely need a new camera. lol

[edit] Looking at the photos now I\'m really considering giving him a pair of necron feet or something instead. It might be just me but i find those shoes being a bit clown-ish on that body

Really looking forward to seeing this when it is done. I was thinking the same thing about those shoes too, maybe some feet from a krieg model would go well or even the boots from a space marine scout?

Two updates on one day! I guess it is true that you are more productive when the missus isn\'t around. lol

The tech priest is almost done now, he just needs a few more arms and some trinkets I believe, the shoes are still a bit big(@Droogie77: those shoes are guardsman shoes already so I think I\'ll have to start looking at fantasy models for better ones) but I\'m not sure if I should care...

I have also done some soldering on the tank, preparing for the insertion of the \"reactors\".

This is some amazing work, you have an excellent eye for detail and it definately shows in the exceptional quality of the work. It\'s making me seriously consider attempting some lighting on my stormlord which I\'ll be convering into a stormblade.

Out of curiosity did you experiment with any sort of electric or aquarium tubing for the cannon barrel?

I know they make a black ribbed tubing for fountains and covering small wires, and there might be a clear version available. Alternately it may be possible to cast the sides of the cannon in a clear resin, or a blue tinted resin.
