Okay, after a slight delay (work) I'm now ready to do some posting up of pics and whatnot.
So first up,as Meph predicted the first pic of a Stormbird is that pencil drawn pic of Ultramarines from the original Space Marine (Epic) rulebook.

Not too sure how big it'll turn out but if needs be I'll put up a bigger size later.
Next up we have what I deem to be a Stormbird from a super old Citadel catalogue.

Interesting isn't it?
Now last of all we an actual Stormbird that some dude in the UK (a GW store employee no less) kinda scratch-built.Here is the link to the guys blog,it has a full run through of what he used and how he went about it.Interesting point for the curious,I've searched on Ebay for the GI Joe toy that he used, they go from anywhere between US$80 and US$300.

Does anyone feel a little envious of this guy,you should check some of his Titans and Grey Knight stuff while you're there.
When I get to the Stormbird (after building 3 Thunderhawks and a Fellblade for my Dark Angels) I'm going to combine all 3 images into something a little more coherent with the description given in the Heresy novels.Ultimately though I feel it will look more or less like the one that the guy made,my only real criticism of it being the giant turbines, why you ask?
Even though they look damn cool, what purpose do they serve on a space faring vehicle? If it was a strictly planet bound vehicle I could understand it,maybe I'm overthinking it,let me know your thoughts.
Heres one more pic to give you an actual sense of scale, its huge!

One last thing,to find the Stormbird in the first place was a case of searching 'Stormbird' through Google Images. Its amazing how much cool stuff you'll find by doing it.
Hope I've stirred up a few fires, cant wait to move so I can get started on it.
