Good start. I find space wolves one of the hardest colors to get right. Is that subtle battle damage on there?

Thank you. I know what you mean about them being among the hardest, dark angels gets my vote for hardest overall though.

Yeah it's very slight wear and tear. Painted it with a only slightly thicker than glaze mix as i was trying to stop it being OTT like a few of my test models turned out.

Hey swanpthing, welcome to the forum. Your painting is super neat for someone 1 year in! This model is looking nice and if this is the standard for your tabletop army they will look super.

The muted battle damage is very nice and your copper metallic is good also. Looking forward to following this thread and seeing how you finish up.
Cheers
Will

the chest plate if im honest is pretty close to about the best I can do.just hoping I can stay consistant over a small army.

Wow. Very sharp for 1 year. And super clean, that is a big thing that people struggle with. I love the subtle battle damage, it is very convincing. Great job, I'll keep an eye on this.

Just thought i'd share my wee side project to the thundercavalry. I find it better too have two things on the go so save me from getting fed up with a project.

its the predator from forgeworld. I also got a nurgle dreadnought at the same time that you'll see later on ;) cudn't resist the thing was stunning.

got a wee confession to make I actually forgot I had an account on here ooopsy. I've still been lurking though I'm not even blonde! anyway this is what im working on at the moment. As you can see I've got a bit side tracked from space wolves. I couldn't help myself.

You're partly to blame lol. Been loving those toads you're working on completely baffles me how you get the blends so smooth and natural looking.

Right so £104 of resin just got punched off my workbench.

how the hell do you stop glazes going chalky? Tried glazing mediums tonnes of water wiping so much paint off the brush i could hardly see the model getting wet.

use paint, that's less different in value and saturation, so basically an in-between-step before going for the imagined color

Yeah, let me guess: Citadel? They have a shit-ton of talc in them to keep them flat so when you thin them that really separates as it dries. I have since decided to make my own using paints and water. I feel your pain :(

Yeah it is indeed citadel. Glazes usually work for me with these paints though. Tbh its only been the new ones thats gone wrong.

strengthens my argument with the missus to go for the full valejio paint set then.

I have found the new one get cloudy too. Vallejo is good if you can get access to them, Reaper & p3 are nice and secret weapon has some good washes that thin well. Yes a good excuse to try many many many paints WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Did I mention I have to be supervised by another adult at hobby and craft stores now?

nothing exciting just a model thats always took my interest to get back into it and some experimenting while im at it.

this is my first attempt at inks with metalics.

The sgt had a boo boo but at least you can see the finished armour on the legs of this pair. Really like the lighter blue wear marks really pop.
