Wood Elf Lord

I do love this sculpt, and as I\'ve never painted an elf in all the many years I\'ve attempted to paint, I thought I\'d give it a bash. Wanted the green to be more \'leafy\' in colour than the bright greens you tend to see on it (and it makes a change from Ultramarines ;) ). I think he\'s coming along...

:O Especially the mantle looks great. On the second pic, the top where the little bump is looks awesome!:O

The green certainly is leafy :D Always loved your work, looking forward to this one!
Very good real metallics :D Do you use the same gold recipe that you used on the Ultramarines?

The metal is a little different - it has a base of Dwarf bronze, which makes it slightly warmer to my mine. Still has brown and a purple wahs over this, but after the highlights done, I put a couple of thin red glazes on it for good measure!

Right then, after huge amount of false starts on the sword, I think I\'ve got some sort of happy compromise with it. Not quite standard verdigris - I think (well, hope) that the effect gives off at least some aura of magical do-dah!

Fiddled about with his eye too - by christ it was fiddly - in the end I was standing up arms rested on my window-sill before I managed to get the right position to pop in the black!

That\'s not the greatest pic ever (especially the hair is blurred on my PC) But its an awesome miniature. I find the blade and the hair a let down of the miniature, the mantle and armor is lovely. Keep it up Joek :)
