Bases

If you want really nice finished bases, try Mike, 3010609bro@attbi.com. I got is email from Rachel, after I looked at a base she had and really liked it.

I\'ve also gotten bases from Jay Wirth of Renaissance Inc. He can be contacted at JWirth4702@aol.com. Very nice man to deal with. Web page: http://www.renaissanceink.net/catalog.htm

The bases are not fancy finished bases, but they are very inexpensive and come in an huge range of materials and sizes. If all else fails, he will custom cut bases for the size you need.

His wooden bases are magnatized, so you can move your figs around in a steel tool box and they will stay secure.

Dobbin has one of the wooden bases.

I sealed the base with Plaid Wood Sealer. The base was primed with the fig, so I painted it when I finished the figure. The wooden base is flat on top, so I used my dremmel to carve out an indentation for the fig and filled in the gap with green stuff. Then I painted and flocked the base as I wood any other.

I also picked up unfinished solid wood bases from a local hobby store. I haven\'t used them yet; so far all I\'ve done is seal them so they are ready for me to start applying modeling material to build my terrain on the base.

Jeff Valent Studios now has pre-finished bases with different surface textures (metalic, wood floor, stone, etc.) Check them at http://jeffvalentstudios.com/wargamingterrain.htm.
