Im not quite sure what the scale is but thesize from the bottom of the chest to the top of the hair is around 35mm.
Does that sound about 90mm scale??
The scale means you have to blend better, something that only shows on the camera I have noticed:)

@Klute - very nice bust!

@French kid - voted on the finished piece. Have to agree with the others about the lichen on the base. Never cared for it either except to make trees...

@tidico - nice looking orc. If the rest look that good it will be a fine looking army.

Cheers guys,
Grumb :cool:

aaaaarghll, I missed that part of the rules. Well of to doing a standard size base before deadline. At least I\'ll get rid of the lichen that way ;) Next contest I\'ll have to remeber readig the whole thing carfully :p

Here\'s another WIP of mine. There\'s plenty left to do on him, but some parts are nearly finished. I\'m quite happy with the armour on his back.

Hey Ritual, I\'ve always wondered : how do you highlight the freehand on the robes ? Do you :
1. basecoat robes, highlight robes, paint design, highlight design ?
2. basecoat robes, basecoat design, highlight both separately but in a coherent manner ?
3. basecoat robes, basecoat design, and then use a mysterious technique (glazes ?) to shade/highlight both at the same time ?

My way of doing it is probably alternative 3 or close to it. I paint the robes and apply basic shading and highlighting. Paint the freehand design in a base colour, in this case off-white. Then I apply several washes of the brown discolouring on top of the freehand. Finally, although this is not made on this mini yet, I highlight the discoloured part and maybe also what is still seen of the freehand.

this guy is based on a film called the brotherhood of the wolf. pretty cool film. he\'s supposed to be wearing this thick leather trenchcoat and tri-corner hat. just about to kick some ass with the pole

looking good freakinacage, the only thing that I would say is that the staff is way to thick you should try and fins somthing smaller. And that movie is awsome by the way, love it :D

you\'re right it does look too big. thing is, it looked fine when i originally did it and i don\'t really want to have to re-sculpt his hand. i\'ll see what i can do..

he is loosely based on mani when he has that fight in the beginning. when i saw the costumes i thought - wow how cool are they?! i just wanted to see if i could pull of the hat and coat. he\'s not the best but he\'s my first complete fig (if i finish him!)

Well you did a good job because before I read your comment I though that the pic looked a lot like the guy from the movie in the begining. :D also made me want to watch the movie again. :p
