Work In Progress

dragon fire = fire dragon? lol

anyway, something a bit like this:

basically it is the force commander from the new plastic kit.

Alterations as follows:
1) Used the space marine tank commander from rhino et al sprue, then sculpted some thinning hair onto the back.
2) Fiddled about with marine arms from the tank sprue (arms that would fire a stormbolter) and the \"pointing\" arm from the comander sprue, attached hands that would usually hold chainswords, drilled through and used some rod to make the hammer haft, then sculpted in some wrist area.
3) Shaved down the dwarf hammer from the regiment box and drilled a hole through it and attached it to the hammer haft, the sculpted it flat, then sculpted on the weird line parts then attached shave down skulls off of the veteran plastic shoulders in the command unit box, then attached a purity seal, then sculpted the bit on the bottom of the hammer haft (this is yet to be shaved down as it appears to be a kind of 3d rhombus shape in the game.
4) Filled in the shoulder joints and sorted out the joint between thorax and pelvis.
5) Cut up part of the eagle banner top to make the wings on the left leg, then cut down the scroll and added that.
6) also sculpted onto a terminator honour piece to make the part on the chest.

That\'s more or less it, I\'ve worked from some screenshots and memory and i have since noticed the hammer in the game has a part in the top missing but oh well, artistic licence ?

I\'m painting it up soon! Hope people like it.

Cool

Hey fire-dragon-studios, your HQ and my HQ will have to have a duel once both are paintedlol.

PS. i aint no Heretic... i actually play Space Wolves... this one\'s for a friend.

Thanks Spacemunkie... just a little green stuff between two sheets of plexi glass and then another piece put onto the bottom later that got it\'s edge from a dremel. Kinda screwed up on it thought... literally. i put screw heads on both sides instead of a screw head and a nut... but it\'s one of those things that only the sculpter ever notices so shhhhhhh...;)

A
nice job! he looks awsome, only 1 thing i would do different would be to make the hammer head a bit bigger, it looks kinda small to me

Nice Mark! He looks so much better painted up. The sculpts on those SB minis are lovely to paint.

I\'m painting the Sacred Blade Cyber Paladin with the nice wings. She\'s looking pretty funky. I\'ll post her when I get back from work :)

Dont ask me why she has a black eye, it doesnt appear in real life (actually it does, but both eyes are black) ^^

The face os this mini was HORRIBLE to paint, imho (like female faces in general)
and i\'ve discovered why there are so many great saints with so many \"regular\" faces!
I chose to spare the lipstick and gave her eyes a dark shade so she wont look like a harlet :)
Any ideas for her coat? I dont want to do a 30 hour super freehand but some ornaments and little fleur icons would be nice.
Suggestions? Comments? Be frank, i appreciate them! :)

@Joshua, She\'s looking very nice.. your NMM looks interesting, very well done. Looks like many people have a hard time with the face also. For the cloth, try looking at some carpets for some inspiration and do those and some fleur de lys. Just finish her up ;)

smooth paintjob, especially the armour

but if I were you I\'d try to fix the dark eyes, because it makes her look like an old, sick lady :)

I quite like her face Joshua......

Here\'s that Cyber Paladin. Not a great deal left to do, just the hair, tweaking and tidying. Not been able to get anywhere near my photo setup as I\'ve had the mother-in-law staying

Damn, Scott!! It looks great! Seems I have to get some of that Sacred Blade stuff. How\'s the casting quality?

Cheers Anders - it\'s getting there! The casting quality was absolutely fantastic on this piece. I didn\'t have to remove anything at all - no flash, mould lines.... It was possibly the best quality casting I\'ve bought which is no mean feat for such a young company. I thoroughly recommend them!

Wow, that\'s very cool Scott. I think the black is the best part, very hard to get it to look this nice :) The base is also quite nice, whee did you get that pillar ?
Must check out this Sacred Blade stuff.
