klute: more hamsters = you\'re my hero.

those are rad.

so its been weeks since I posted my reaper ronin when I was stuck. Since a few comments here helped to keep me focused and reminded me of what i really already knew as far as color choice, i humbly offer him up in his finality.

I think the flesh could be more smooth, but I do like the geography of the shading on him. I started there and as I got going I got hooked into spending way more time on the rest of him than I thought I would.
A small discrepancy, but I think on a whole it works well.

This was also my first nmm blade done with straight greys and no blues. My 3rd nmm blade ever. I\'m still not totally cinvinced of my grasp of it in the color placement, but I think this definatley a cut above what I\'ve done so far. I really need to study it more on one side, but relax and paint more naturally in the execution I think. Trying to be too formulaic drives me bonkers.

Anyway. . . comments and criticism always welcome.

@klute I love those hamsters. An army of them is a great idea...think of the possibilities. A hamster shaman (carrot for staff looking all ratty like a year old oldster), a hamster chariot (hamster in wheel) a cute hamster seducress...ohh, now that is scary

@WOOHOO welcome to the forums, it looks ok for a work that is in such an early stage of development. I think you may have gone from blue to white a bit abruptly. It is interesting that you have put your basing materials on before you have finished the painting. Keep your wips coming it will be interestingto watch it develop.

Hello!

Try glazing the trousers with white - very thin, fine glazes. Wait for one to dry and add another. It\'ll bring the tones together.

Blackfly- The NMM sword looks good, but at the tip, the white is a little messy, but I like the contrast. Good rest of the mini.

Anyway my miniswap orc is very near to completion, just started getting the base ready and I also have a tattoo to paint on the shoulder if I can pluck up the courage to do it. Anyhows here it is,

Tim ....the painting on that figure is excellent though Im in a minority saying I think the green skin is flat.I would deepen it myself.

That miniswap orc is looking awesome. Agree with Mark and Scott that the skin could use some more pop. I LOVE the shield on the back and the weapon is just awesome. I can\'t wait to see him finished.

Mmm the skin does appear a bit on the flat side especially in these pics but I took them in a bit of a rush and didn\'t quite get set up right.
It looks better in normal daylight, I may either put in a bit of shading or just another highlight on the hands and face as Scott suggests. I\'m not too worried about the main body as I intend to put on a couple of tatts if I can pluck up the courage. Thanks for the comments guys.
