Work In Progress

Mark I had only intended to do the lower arms in the SENMM style as it would be realy intricate to try and do it all over except perhaps the shoulder guards. I am going to do the thigh plates in NMM gold or at least that is the plan but am not sure which colours to use for that, I do not want anything too bright if you no what I mean. I will leave the SENMM as it is for now and judge it when more is done and if it don\'t look great I\'ll change it.

Tim, The se-Nmm looks good but make a transition towars a lighter brown also. It seems like it is a transition there but IMO it needs a bit more. pehapsmixing in a lighter brown.

I think your making the right choice doing everything else and then deciding if you like to keep the se-nmm.

@ Averlorn I did a slight transition in the brown by mixing in a little grey into the brown now the question is do I go lighter further towards the bottom of the arm?

Yes. (i noticed it and tried to quickly edit the message.. hehe)
But the \"sand\" isn\'t grey, right? It should be more natural colour the closer it is to the subject. So perhaps a lighter brown instead. it should be more highlighted the closer the reflected area is to the mini.. so yes the bottom of the arm.

@Tim.....make sure the ground reflection is the same colour range as the base scheme.ie a grassy base will have green earth reflections,a sand one yellow.

That is why I was edging the brown to a greyish tone as I intend to put it on an urban/ industrial type base. I am going to try something out again with the sky side of the senmm and see how that turns out, more pics later.

Now my question do I go with the NMM gold trim or do I match the SENMM instead, I have also altered the shade on the top half of the senmm on the arms to a paler blue grey I think it looks better than the darker.
I am holding off highlighting the brown until I have the base done as that is going to effect the colourisation.

Looking good Tim!
I only tried SENMM once, and I had a similar problem with the blue. I glazed lots of light grey and white over the top, but it still came out a little too blue for my liking. You did the right thing by toning it down Tim. You always seem to see nice blue skies in a post-apocalyptic fantasy/sci-fi world!!

I also decided that the earth bit needed some refections to give it some interest. Oh, and a good slash of white to define the S and the E.

Go with the gold!! Gold SENMM is pretty simple as well - good for the more intricate trim definitely!

Mark, that assassin is the best thing you did so far! He looks class!

Thanks for the input Scott. Yeah its funny isn\'t it how the world is a peach when it has not long since ended. Less humans screwing it up i suppose.

The senmm is looking spot on Tim.On the shoulders though I think you need to make the horizon curl up a bit instead of down.
Go with gold senmm too.The gold sets off the silver well.

Thanks Scott,IMHO the assassin is my best paintjon to date by far.

Abd BTW he is finished and posted so heres the link if anyone would like to vote and comment.

What\'s that toad got there, a bomb?

@Klute... wow, great job. It\'s nice to see him finished. I\'m not sure I like the \"2-Face\" look but I could not vote less than 9 on him. It\'s great to see the finished product after getting to know him here!

Thanks gang.

@NSA....dont tell anyone but masters dont always result in a perfect cast. When I primed him the face was ok but when I went to paint him there was a couple of pinholes.I was already thinking of something to compliment the sombre look of the figure and the 2-face thing seemed quite appropriate.
Im going to do another and Im actually thinking of sculpting a \"rackham\" mask over it.

but like I say...hush hush.

Tim - That\'s looking might fine from here, i\'ve never been good with chrome senmm, tried it once, didn\'t work, and never tried again lol

Corvus - i\'m not actually sure what that is, but it\'s brilliant anyway :)

My latest piece is the sacred blade phoenix bounty hunter, please bear in mind these pictures have only just been taken, using simply my desk lamp and the rooms \"big light\" so i\'m surprised at how well they\'ve come out :

I originally did the cloak a dark green, but it didn\'t really look right, and i\'m much more pleased with the blue, as you can tell it not nearly finished yet, and i\'m considring doing some tatoo work on the skin somehere.
