Work In Progress

Ok this is what I have done today, Mike asked me if I would paint up a Gnoblar trapper for the Paint Aid army that had gone astray in the post and of course I gladly accepted. These are little b******s to paint as anyone who has done any will probably agree. Still it is starting to come together I just need to place another highlight on the skin and also the smock that it is wearing.

I will say however that it is probably the last one that I will paint, it hurts the eyes too much. lol

Nice Gnoblar! I like the highlight on his nose a lot.

Well, here\'s Ardokath again, with a craptacular picture (clicky clicky):

Nowhere near the standard some of you crank out, but nearly done and eagerly awaiting the next match....
The thingy under his feet will be blue, with a fade over the base (if you understand what I mean). I thought about OSL, but blue OSL on purple seems bit of a waste.

Tim - nice noblar, imagine painting a whole unit of them :p.

Had a busy weekend myself and haven\'t been able to do much painting-wise, but I\'ve started work on my first non GW models . Will post once I have pics hehe.

Heres a montage of the stuff thats got my attention at the moment.
Biggest question....is the badger walker\'s howitzer just a bit too phallic?;)
Changed the bust a bit,nose/mouth ears cheeks. He may yet turn out not to be a vamp:D
Just an update of wolf/orc,skin done with some tattoos.
Sacred Blade female cyber paladin captain, went for some girly colours on this one.

Love the paleness of the skin, how a cyborg skin should look IMHO.Are you going to give it some red/sore looking glazes around the implants etc. That would finish it off nicely and add more depth while keeping the pale look.

Mark there is some interesting stuff there, I like the orc very much not to keen on the vampire but that is just my taste and it sure as hell is nice sculpting, The robot is looking cool and the female Cyber Paladin is a great sculpt(you lucky sod) though I am not sure about pink armour though I am sure it will look great when done. I am going to have to place a BIG order with Pete and get me some of these casts.

El Guardian cool mate I like the skin tone I think it works well on this sculpt, what do you intend to do with the rest of it?

@Klute: Indeen i will do it, , thats the next step, will try to post pics asap. I agreee with Tidoco2222 im not sure about the pink armour, i would try a metallic with a pink glaze, that would look nice, something like alberts Dirz, but not as dark

El Guardian cool mate I like the skin tone I think it works well on this sculpt, what do you intend to do with the rest of it?

will try a red-black-gold scheme on this one, main armour prts will be black, with tne right soulder pad in red and a numer, some of the armoyrs will be gold including the face, that im going to paint as a mask, dot really like the scuplt it doesnt look like a natural face, the artificial muscles will be done in a blueish color, lwill try to achieve a glowing inverting the highlights, starintg with white as the deppest color, and \"Highlighting\" to a white blue mix, hope that works fine. The rest, spikes and metal parts in the skin will be steel, no NMM on this one just good old classic metals

I hear you with the armour. Its turned out how I visualised it but now its on the lead its just too plasticcy.I might try a mithral wash like Arnesto Holt one I did. That might give it a more metallic feel.

Klute - was on the Sacred Blade site the other day and saw the green of that palladin and thought \"thats looks great, i wonder if tim or klute is working on it right now\" hehe :p. Tis looking good though I agree on the pink issue.

El Guardian - like that skin and your plans for it sound cool, looks like a nice sculpt as you say.

Nice Scott! Looking really good. Only thing that jumps out at me is that the end of his scabbard ,if that is what the thing on the left is, is solid with no way to insert the sword. If it\'s not a scabbard then \"never mind\"...... ;)

He\'s very well painted and is going to compliment the army nicely.

Cheers,
Grumb

basing those large ogres can be a pain. the only way is to put the base diagonaly. so each of his feet are in an opposite corner..but even then they sometimes hang over.
sad thing is that this leaves very little room to make an interestinf base. :(

I have not decided whether to take the chequered pattern all the way up to the top of the robe thingy he is wearing. These guys are so small it is realy hurting my eyes to concentrate on it for mor than a few minutes at a time.

@stef 686 No I am not doing the female Paladin I will be starting a cyber demon today and that is the last mini I have to do from Sacred Blade unless I get more of course...:D

Tim, great work on that Gnoblar! These things were a real pain to paint. I really like the checkered pattern, but I don\'t think you should run it all the way up. It looks more interesting the way that it is.

Cheers,
Grumb

@Guardian - niiiice! you did the \"sore\" bits well, that was a good idea (I\'m too lazy to look back and see who suggested it). Between the pale flesh and the metal face that thing just looks like all kinds of wrong - very creepy! I think it will look excellent when it\'s done :)
