Work In Progress

A
hey every 1,

im starting this thread for people to show the CMON comunity their work in progresses on this thread, with out being judged on \"the base isnt done\" or \"the arms missing\",

i wanted to start it so we could give each other painting and modelling tips, and advice, and if someones stuck for an idea on where to go with their minature, they can post a picture of it and we can give them some advice on what to do next.

IMO i think this would be a really cool and populare idea.

so, any one got any WIP to show us?

I have shelves of \'WIP\'. Unfortunately much of it has been \'in progress\' for years!! Doing a FW commissar bust and a converted inquisitor at the mo. I\'ll get some pics.....:)

As you can see I thought I would give the bogeyman a try. I wanted to go for a different colour from the card.

I was bored, so I thought I\'d show you lot this

BTW ...thats some great work going on there Tim.The face and leather is spot on though I think the reds is too deep shaded,I know red is a tough one,try a thin wash over the shading.Or just tell me to get lost and mind me own business.:)Is that inquisitor scale,I am fancying a crack at those.

@T2222: Looking good! Nice base too:D

Edit: Here you go. Got him at GD for a tenner. Always liked him. Simon Egan sculpts great pieces. Still a load of work to do on the metallics and the sash/medals....

@ munkie: Looking good, the grey uniform is very nice and clean, but in my opinion his face is slighly too similar in tone, might be the shot ofcourse, but maybe you want to bring just a littlebit of colour into it, just to set it off from the grey in the uniform. anyways....

@Spacemunkie
Nice, Scott!!!:D Looking forward to see the finished result.

Im working on completing a Drune Persecutor, but I\'m thinkin of entering it to Spacemunkie\'s competition, so I won\'t show it here quite yet!

i see what tammy is saying about hus face being too similar in colour to his uniform but i kinda like it - makes him look like he needs to get out more - and too many IG rations

Yup, that was the idea. A washed out, FUBAR\'d, zombie like, death dealing automaton. He\'s lost any hint of his humanity and is now no more than his uniform and everything this represents....:D

To whom it may concern...

...so here\'s my current table:

(Click for a larger image)

Let\'s start at the right-hand side. There you see the Drune Archer I am painting. My girlfriend is doing the same one and we will upload those two to CMON to get an answer to the question \"She paints better than me but she doesn\'t believe it\". I know that that is no question, thank you very much, but it illustrates my point :p

Then there is the Drune Persecutor; his skin is finished and so is the leather skirt. I am now doing the fur and then his leather boots, metallics will be last.
In the background you can also see my.... stuff... holding.. thingy made out of the back of a Rackham blister that has been used to mix paint in, two pieces of scrap foam and a wooden rod. It holds together pretty well and is surprisingly sturdy; the rod can be taken out to paint the part patafix-ed to it (usually a head) and the other piece of foam is not really attached to the blister... ground... thing so it can be used well too. I use this piece to paint weapons/arms (look great when the axe is jammed in there :D).

And to the far left we can catch a glimpse of my painting mascot, Mr Eyeballz (schon krass). If you don\'t know him but understand spoken/growled German visit www.ballz.de
On second thought, be sure that you are NOT easily offended ;) His eyes are not yet painted in. I admit it. But sculpting him was really easy :D

Back to the Persecutor. the good thing is, the Persecutor has no hard drive which could mysteriously stop working.
*wanders off cursing and generally sounding unpleasant*
