Ok what do you think about the armor
color?

I went for a pretty weathered look, and maybe i\'ll add these strange nmm black/white scratches.

Its pretty much the space wolf color scheme but without the sw icons (yet)
Tt just fits the best to the fur and the axe (with the tail) and in addition i want him to stand onto a funky snow base.

Any ideas for some extra freehand or ornaments because it seems pretty boring right now :(

Please drop a comment and help the helpless ;)

EDIT: new pic the bolter/arm i spend quite some time :0

That looks very good so far! I don\'t think it looks booring. I wouldn\'t do any freehand on it unless there is an area where freehand would look suitable. Doing freehand on a mini just for the sake of having freehand on it can easily make the mini look too \"busy\".

The armour looks very nice. I like that stained colour scheme you use.

Joshua, that looks very good...the hilt fo the axe, the bolter, etc. are all turning out great. I can\'t wait to see the head finished...:)

The wolfen is coming along fairly well...I just love these confrontation sculpts. I\'ve done more of the flesh, mainly. The skin is a basecoat of scorched brown, highlighted up to graveyard earth for the main skintone, and then highlighted with khommando khaki....I then washed the shadows with liche purple mixed with scorched brown, and did some more layering to blend it in....

the skin/fur on your wolfen looks great! very smooth blending.
maybe i should start with some rackham sculpts too, the wolfen range looks awesome.
I\'ve never painted anything else than crafty GW\'s products :\\

just to prove why i\'m at the bottom of the list...

here\'s another update on my Nurgle Lord Conversion & paint up.

well, i wanted a rotted flesh look (this is a Nurgle mini) for the more normal head and then a demon/devilish look to the other and since green and red are complements i went with this;
teaser2.png

but now i\'m a little concerned that it\'ll look kind of christmas-y... not the look you want in a feared warlord. So i\'ll have to keep my purples muted and absolutly no more red on this guy, but i have hopes he\'ll turn out yet.

Need armour ideas for my fallen loyalist! Maybe just a white/black/grey primer? i was reading about the forming of the Diseased Sons and how they took Guardsmen, implanted them with gene-seed (they were still in training hence the primered armour and no chapter colors yet) and trained them up to form the 13th regiment when Lord Nurgle infected the city and took the chapter over. Anyone strong enough to survive the infection died in a bloody battle for the city when the infected marines were quranteened right next to the armoury. Now you know that old saying how marines sleep with thier bolters? Turns out that\'s not true so the loyalists were moed down without much resistance armed mainly with power armour and bolt pistols. So ANYONE with ANY imput is much appreciated as i can\'t paint anything other than the heretic\'s pet bolter untill i have the loyalists armour figured out. Speaking of that living bolter... i\'m thinking a purple plaque bearer color scheme?

We need your help on this thread to help us chose which theme to sculpt. A poll is up so it should only take a few seconds to vote. Thanks fo voting and we\'ll post pictures of WIP.

@ itchy

To avoid the xmas look, highlight your colours with \"off\" shades. By this I mean use desert yellow instead of yellow, bleached bone instead of white, komando khaki etc. to lighten your base colour. This helps tone down the colours and make them more \"earthy\" and realistic.

Don\'t be afriad to keep up with the contrasting colours, just be sure to use some more neutral browns and greys as well for things like pouches. Have a look at my nurgle terminator in my gallery for an example of a red/green scheme that is not xmassy.

Hope this helps.

Oh and for colours, I would use Catachan green for the chaos dudes armour and paint the loyalist as a blood angel (or other red chapter).

Uh i think to have a quite nice speed rate but you really beat me on that, and with great quality too! Well that\'s why you\'re on business and i\'m not: i guess you must give yourself some time terms to your work, i think it\'s not simple thing to do.
curious to see your black use on the black templars, i\'m still trying to learn how to highlight properly this color.

MMA - The metal looks great. The assault squad are looking spot on - you got the white and the sergeant\'s face spot on!

You\'ve even taken the time to put some OSL around the eyes. Nice!;)
