here is my bretonnian bust, i forgot to save the picture on my computer, so you will have to follow the link.

He is sculpted by me from super sculpey, and i sculpted him as Ser Edmure Tully from George RR Martin\'s A Song of Ice and Fire book series.

Other than retooling the NMM what else needs more attention? ANY help is great help. Thank you again to anyone who can lend some advise.

Now THAT is a proper conversion - no self-respecting barbarian would wield a finesse weapon; much better to cleave through your opponent\'s defenses with a massive axe or maul!

That\'s what i always say. Looking for a mini to convert into a 1/2 orc barbarian... this one just SCREAMED at me... all you need is a head swap and the player\'s handbook has plenty of concept art for 1/2 orc heads. Boom... done and done. Now if i could only paint it. Armour will commense today, then work on the skin and reds. Pics tomorrow or maybe tonight.

YAY!! time to paint...

I found a few small errors in the sculpt on the hind legs, like areas not smoothe dproperly so they got like creases...BUT i can either cover them in the base with plants OR add a bit of putty later, bit of paint on primer and then fix it up a bit...shouldn\'t be too big a deal i hope.

Below is a bent up piece of aluminum framing wire (the type of stuff inside the model). Due to the stuff on the back I can\'t tip it over to paint it so I had to bend up this rig to balance it in midair

Friend suggest a bright non-realistic colour scheme to make it stand out at the competition...

yours seems like it could look ok if i can do it justice (which i doubt ).

I am workingon the stonework right now, since that i will paint..well..liek stone hehe

so i got a few days before i work on the dino itself...

only things left to do... just spotted he has sunglasses on ...damn! and i need to give better definition to the buckle on his hat, oh and i haven\'t painted the stick in his hand yet. His cheeks are actually flushed red as though he\' blowing hard but am having difficulty getting that in the picture properly.

Any comments/suggestions?

Well, you see....the problem is...i\'ve already paid for my flight, and a hotel in london to visit a friend....oh, and i got my ticket for games day UK....so i have no choice now...I have to be ready no matter what.... *shrug*

hence i am taking 1.5 weeks off work in a couple weeks to make sure i get the mini and the base done.

Those 2 minis rock! the flame looks nice. what company makes those?

My comments would be: freehand possibilities on the cloaks. Inside and outer lower edges. Is it possible to add some freehand embroidery work to it?

i like the natural colors better myself, but if you\'re looking to impress judges then going fluffy\'s probably your best bet. Can\'t wait to see it painted.

i think those are rackham... look pretty rackham at least.

THIS is what I did, \"natural\" but with red/brown to make it \"ping\".

It looks like it could be quite old, so how about a \"grey\" scheme, doesn\'t have to actually be grey, but sort of wash the colours out so they are faded.

Also have a look at pics of lizards (or artists impressions of dinosaurs), they come in some amazing colours.

This is very early on, and I see I already need to go back and do some washes on the metallic areas, but I am mostly wondering what color to do her boots and leather straps? I was thinking of the cloak being black, so I don\'t want to do these areas black as well. Dark brown maybe? Ideas? The only thing done so far is the hair, skin is just basecoated.

Oh, and the crack in her boot will be covered by a serpent so I haven\'t bothered to fix it

Yes, they are Rackham figs.
The \'man\' is a Griffin Darkness hunter with weapons and a few other things removed and added.
The \'mini-me\' fig is also rackham - its one of the set of three fire familiars, this time unconverted.
They just happened to look alike.

Yes - its possible to do some freehand on the cloak.... Its just i\'ve never done any, and i\'m nervous!
I was trying to make the lining of the coat look like yellow/gold lining or as though he was wearing one of those wax jackets or dryzabone coats... or an old man\'s flashers-mac!!

So what would you suggest instead of the yellow?
It does draw the eye away from the otherwise muted palatte i guess.

well...

Brandlin,

even just a basic line across the bottom of a cloak adds effect to it. So if you are nervous about doing it, add a thin line in a colour you want. Nothing fancy.
