@Starfyre, don\'t you dare give up! The skin doesnt look drybrushed at all, it looks very smooth to me. espacially in the second pic! When this entire thing is done, with the lightningball on its back(is that what i is?), it will look increible! the only thing i dont like are the scales, i would do them a darker colou, and paint them by hand, highlight the edges of the scales. you must bring it, so don\'t give up!

I started painting on a widowmaker and tried to do some nmm on the gunbarrel and chestplate. It\'s my second try on steel. I allready had some experience with the gold on a Khorne champion a while ago, but I couldn\'t get it to look right then.

Sorry for the bad quality of the pic, but I can\'t get the settings and the lighting right.

I like the golden on the gun barrels...pretty good NMM i think...

the face looks WAY to dark though....are you making her of african/indian descent? or it\'s not fully painted yet....

thanx! The face hasn\'t even been touched with paint yet ;) It\'s the camera and lighting that gives it a bit of a shine ???

hmmm

I think the blend in the darkest recesses for the NMM gold maybe a bit smoother...but I\'d prefer if EricJ (i think it\'s him), Tidicco or other nmm experts replied here instead since blending ain\'t my thing :D

I\'d apply some thinned washes with VMC on the gold to intensify the shading. Good work, though! How come the front part of the barrel is dark?

didn\'t know if I wanted the front of the barrel steel or gold :D What color do you suggest for the washes?

Sorry, I meant to type in \'Smoke\' after \'VMC\' but I apparently forgot. :innocent: Smoke is very nice for metals and can be used both on gold and on steel to achieve a \'dirty\' look.

@Sanjay: Been watching your mini for a few weeks now. Its looking really good. I read you may have some problems with getting it on the plane. I travel alot myself and have the same problems, but I have built a case to carry the minis in my check in baggage and never had any problems. Just a thought for you. BTW good luck with the girl.

My little Diorama is now approaching completion, only a couple more Gondorians to paint and a bit of weathering and some more scenic stuff to do and then it is done.

He used his pogo stick can\'t you see it leaning against the wall behind him. :D I need to find a ladder in the right scale to add to the base. Unfortunately the Uruk Hai siege ladders to me look a bit big, I may be able to convert one of them.

@tidoco, that looks fine, don\'t worry about a ladder. It\'ll just clutter things. He\'s a freaking superhero, he could have climbed up there.

@Sanjay, the Engine looks great! And you are learning a lot by doing it too :D

What did you build to put your minis into your luggage?

If i could find a box that won\'t compress from weight, then i would love to put it into my baggage instead of carrying it in a cardboard box in my hands on the flight.

He was given a leg up of course:D
Tim I think a ladder would spoil the whole effect but then I also think the place is to clean and not enough rubble lying around :D

Have you ever seen bagage handlers at work? My advice would be to take it as carry on. You don\'t want something you\'ve put so much work into damaged when your luggage is thown about.
