did multipul views of the last dudes back in a hope to show off my layering, but it didnt work, camera aint its best, but i got one of those light tents in the post so hopefuly that should improve things....

fredwinu: The last guy looks pretty good, the cloak is very promising. Your light tent will probably improve your photos a lot! Also try using a small tripod for stability.

Petrik: wow, just... wow. That\'s really impressive. Good results too. Can I ask why you chose the \"actual miniature bricklaying\" technique?

Talonicus: The gleam/black NMM on the Chaplain\'s armour is fantastic! Plus his pose is amusing for some reason. The other guy I will not comment on since I have a particular hate on for that miniature

@petrick - thats a great house! i love to make terrain but i find it impractical to make as it is generally too large to store easily and i don\'t game. it\'s also harder to sell on. i find that terrain is generally undervalued. can\'t wait to see some more from you

Tried zenital priming, and now I remember why I had thrown that white primer in the darkest corner possible... notice the splatters! doesn\'t matter all too much while painting luckily, only the big ones take some more time to cover up decently. Metallics are only basecoated (as I got the comment that the metallics on this mini need work...)

I really like the splattering effect, how did you do it? A toothbrush or something like that?

Then how did or how would the primer end up doing that?

And can you do it on purpose?

The primer will do that with a knackered nozzle or if the propellant is starting to run out....

Oh right, so those little splatter dots are actually little lumps?

I didnt realise, thats a bit crap then isnt it. Any way I could get the splatter look without the lumps then?

toothbrush would probably work... An airbrush, or a can of compressed air work... Or simply load up a cig brush with a bunch of watered down paint and flick the top of it towards the mini.

hmmmm . . .

So, this is a little late to ask advice, but I\'m still curious.

After I got the kimono details done on this I sat for several days contemplating the colors for the sash and obi (belt). The sash isn\'t done, it needs more blending, but I\'m curious how you all feel about the color combos. My girlfriend thinks the purple obi and green sash is too many colors on top of the already rather busy kimono.

@blackfly: I actually think it\'s fine as it is as you\'re not introducing any new colours with them. The purple and green is allready reflected on the dress. But if you want to change anyway (it might improve the outcome anyways) you should go with a neutral colour. Probably a black or white would be nice. you could just change one colour if you want to.

Oh. and awesome job on the freehand

@ blackfly: I would\'t worry about it. It looks good. If you do decide to change I would make the sash and obi the same color as the green and purple in the dress.

@blackfly- Agreed with the previous comments. The sash is fine. It mixes fine with the colors you already used. Looks great, can\'t wait to see the final pic.
