I\'d say don\'t go white as it is a traditional colour for mouring in Japan.

It\'s fine as it is. (Digging in tool box for New Hammer).

The putty under the wheels is just temporary to stick it to the base, as I\'ll paint them separately. I have no idea what color to make this squig\'s skintone, but I would love suggestions!

The greenstuff on the body is where cables enter into the skin - they are linked to the engine in the back, taken from a choppa.

Also, he has goggles to match all my other KoS orks, who I give goggles to in order to represent speed!

Petrik-

Lovely house! I\'d liek to see more pictures, as I love a good piece of terrain. I both appreciate the work of others, and love doing my own projects. . . .

This one is armorcast, but I still had fun customizing it:

2 blackfly: nice projects. You are more for realism in color than me i think. My aim is to create something with realistic details but fantasy style colors - minis are not painted realistic at all. I believe the battlefield has to correspond to overall game style.

Someone asked why did I laid brick by brick... to LEARN and to achieve the best possible effect. I gave myself very hard task doing this house... I tell you there is nothing better to get better than doing really hard task for you.

It is my own design, everything is handmade. The piece is alkso wery hard to photograph, the colors are always different on some places.

@Ogrebane- That Ogre army that you\'ve been cooking up is going to look unbelievable when you\'re done with it. Funny enough I am also working on an Ogre Kingdoms army. Though mine isn\'t GW legal... I am using the Wolfen models for mine.

And on that subject, here is yet another Wolfen that I recently started applying paint to... well.. actually he\'s had paint on him for a looong time... but I decided recently to finish him.

I only spent an hour on him so far (not including the axe... That was painted way before. So he is still very much so in the beginning stages.

I\'m not sure if this is orthodox, but im looking for help and input.
I still do not have a camera, and am trying to find a suitable one through airmiles, listed on the \"looking for a new camera\" thread.

I\'m entering my first paint contest, and the first one hosted in my city for at least 5 years.

The project i\'d like to post here is a Melkhior on winged nightmare, the first one of these guys on the site as well!
I have very few concepts so far, but some inspiration. This is my Mount entry. I will also enter a mounted lahmian vampire, one on foot, on queen Neferate, and a 40k Terminator.

So far I have come up with a few ideas on Melkhior. But first is a link describing him, and the equipment he carries, which I would like to work on and bring out the wickedness of.
http://uk.games-workshop.com/vampirecounts/special-characters/4/

I am a beginer-intermediate painter, who for the most part finds himself painting good gameing quality miniatures, but I have produced a few interesting/attractive miniatures. I can paint with at least minor skill, patience, and I follow a good game plan producing solid results, as far as I can tell :p. I know of few other mount entries, I can expect a dark elf on a cold one mount with bright colours, maybe a Chaos Dwarf mount of some sort, and a Wood Elf Wind Rider. I will be entering \"the dark one\" entry.

I hope to produce free hand swirls covering the inside of his cloak, which can be done with little skill, and some patience. If someone has a link, it would be helpful, because I am a little confused about swirlies. I am at loss on his sword, I wish I had an inspiration for a black sword. His skin tone will be a vague/soft green with SW. I am almost certain for the base I will be using is from the Hot Lava Bases article as a guid, but i want to use errie/powerful greens instead, but am unsure of the exact colors yet. I think the only red I want on the model will be a reddened area around his mouth. Thankyou N.S.A ;)

I have no concept or idea of how I should do the winged nightmare (there are a few others on the site), the clothing, or the detailed and large ring of the cloak. Help and input is really appreciated. I will assemble & basecoat the tommorow, but I dont plan to start the magority of the work until mid next week. I have until the first sunday in April to finish him, but I also must work on the chaos terminator, and would like to finish him after Melkhior.

I have time off until the after the competition, and besides finishing other entries, little else planned. I am going to put alot of time and he will be my best work so far. I plan to put a picture of him finished after the contest. Here is a picture of GW\'s Melkhior on Winged nightmare, and one from the net

Cool! That is awesome!

Can\'t wait to see it painted; not sure what colors you should use.

Seems like it is pretty common to use red (and as we all know: \"Red wunz go fasta!\').
