@ Crime clown: You\'re tyrant isnt bad, I think the concept is really good. The flames could be better painted (well sculpted though). Start with white, then go yellow to orange to red and finally to black at the very tip (Took another look and actually the flames one the big mace like weapon are pretty good... but the little ball off flame on the other weapon is too white). Metals look pretty good, could use a wash to add depth though. Finally I think a tiny bit more highlighting on the flesh would help, but this could be the picture washing out the highlights on the flesh, I seem to have that problem alot.

Any one have anything to say about the stuff I posted a little while ago? I would really appreciate some comments/criticisms. :innocent:

Very cool models you got there emo :)

I love the checked freehand on the ork\'s shoulderpad, it looks very well weathered. the skin tone is cool too. very nice smooth conversions and some quality sculpting on the other dudes, and I really like the yellowy skin tone of the wood elves :D great work, keep it up and post more pics soon please!

happy painting

Thanks Bill. Have you finished that ogre yet? I can\'t wait to see it finished, it was spectacular. Loved the pants, and the base was phenominal. Afraid I won\'t be able to post more pictures any time soon though, I don\'t have my own camera which makes it a little difficult to get pictures.

No probs emo :) that was your 100th post, congrats on becoming a member! *balloons and confetti fall from the sky* tomorrow I will take more wip pics of my ogre, tonight I just messed up his left bosom :(

Happy painting

Here is my latest WIP. He has had some gaps filled with greenstuff and a rivet added that fell off on the painted sections so I know that there are small blemishes that need touching up, again with bad photos as ever, but with any luck he will be finished by saturday night and i can get you some good photos on sunday.

hatethestate - welcome to the forums. It\'s looking great. Nice skin colors and the face is excellent. The reds are very rich and look good.

Abstract - Looks solid so far. Is the red going to be shaded and highlighted further? Keep it coming.

@abstract Your marine is looking good so far. I liked the look of the conversion in the sculpting thread and I am equally impressed with him now. I think a bit more time smoothing down some of the cast/conversion would of helped ease your painting of him. I like the freehand on the shoulder pad and the tone of the red. I look forward to seeing how this little fella progresses.:)

@Marmoset: Didn\'t even realise I had that many posts lol... it\'s too bad about the ogre, hope you managed to fix it.

@HateTheState: Looks really nice, who makes that? I\'m not familiar with it. The metals are really nice, and the red is really smooth. Is that eye liner coming down from her eyes (the whole gothic thing)? Skin looks pretty good too. Oh, and welcome to the forums.

@abstract incendiarie: looks great, I saw the work you did in the sculpting thread and it looks even better now. I like the freehand, and the reds are nice (could use an ink or something to darken them up just a little for the shadows). Can\'t wait to see more.

Hi y\'all, how nice to see everyone is staying busy^^

That\'s my first post in the WIP thread, hope my Brits will feel nice here until they\'re done^^
Lot\'s of first here, first \'commision\', first brits, first \'unit\'. Thinks it\'s going nicely so far, shows nice progress, especially that white front leg...
In the midst of all the great stuff going on here, please give a word about them, to help keep that fire going.

While we\'re at it, it might show on the pics that I had a hard time putting them together. So if anyone feels like giving tips and links about nice fitting, preparation and the like, would be awesome.

@GreenOne : Try applying an extra thin coat on th colors to get them smoother. Also, you should spray your primer, it\'ll be a lot smoother.

This is my current WIP yet another LOTR mini, this time it is Haldir in his heavy armour,

I\'m quite happy with the armour, it is quite shiny at the moment but that will be dealt with by the time it is finished.

Do you mean, like a thin greyish on the white and some more chestnut on the brown?
I like better getting a feel of the mini by brush priming, I use homemade primer for that and it\'s extra light, so it\'s okay after basecoat.

I was thinking of the horses\' tabards. The paint doesn\'t look homogenious on the pics. Might be an early step ;).

Nice. The coppery looking chain is good. I have just started painting some LOTR figs and they are a bitch. So small - your work on them is excellent.
