Works in Progress IV

I see, thats actually what I thought at first (well copper not brass), but then I re-thought it because the highlights seemed too strong for brass so I just went with gold. Looks great though. Can\'t wait to see more.

Nurgle Champion - Part 4

Finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I still have some highlighting to do, such as the scars on the helmet and painting the one remaining \"eye\", but I need a break. Hoping for feedback before I pick him up again.

In the interim I think I\'ll get back over to my Penitent Engine conversion and finally try sculpting some goodness on the upper half.

Damn I\'m tired of horsies!

@Tony: I\'m not worthy of leaving a comment...

@Ceasar: The part thats done ( Goood luck with the deadline :p ), the purple is really nice^^

@MisterJustin: I\'m really disgusted, guess that\'s the point ;)

And for all those that are wondering what I\'ve been up to ( Sure there\'s alot of those...), more pic from my evolving first unit:

Damn I\'m tired of horsies!

Might seem like nothing to you, but there is a lot of struggling and some huge steps in these horsies, so please treat them with respect;)

I painted/crafted 108 hours in these last three weeks:D

@Greenone: You are progressing so fast, I\'m impressed! Well done :)

@Mr. J: Looking very cool. I think you need some more depth on the skim, and also on the wires coming out of his back; the composition still needs tidying up a bit. The base is fantastic!

@Tony: I hate you lol (only kidding......that is just jaw-dropping work:wow: )

Happy painting :D

Thats ok Bill we hate him.. .......git!;):D
.............knock our socks off Tony

@cesar: try limiting the width of your pics to 600, and run them down the page rather than across it. Not everyone has a 21\" monitor

@Marmoset and Freak: Thanks! I wish they we\'re better but that would impatient from me.

@crimeclown: What\'s the story behind the burning sword? Rather unusual weapon for an ogre.

@Tony: Brilliant brass. I\'ve never seen it done to satisfaction in metallics (too much like gold), but i\'ve never seen it attempted in NMM before.

@Ghaffasa: The highlights on the armour look good, make the armour look shiny without gloss. A brighter photo might be better... I would also say that the chest device needs some highlighting

Guess i\'ll post a small contribution of my own while I\'m here:

(ick, i forgot how much plastic dust shows up on close-ups)
I\'ll admit it\'s not a vast amount of work, nor a masterpiece, but i was pleased with both the idea and the execution, given my inexperience with anything resembling sculpting.
I also can\'t believe i haven\'t seen this idea before.

Can I have any more feedback on my ogre please?

Where are the pics?

lol Sorry, the link was in an earlier post, here it is again :D

unfortunately the photo is too big to paste onto the forum directly, it would do that screen-widening thing that pisses everyone off...

Happy painting :D

@Marmoset:
Seeing as you\'re anxious for some feedback (and/or ego-stroking) on your ogre (and i don\'t blame you):

Skin colour is unusual. He reminds me of a djinni. I\'m not saying it\'s bad, i\'m just used to grey/green/flesh colours.
The stump colouring looks a little awkward. I\'m not exactly sure how you could improve it though - I don\'t think stumps can look elegant!
The half-barrel looks rather odd. It looks a little out of place. Especially being split cleanly with no sign of the pieces, rather than crushed or broken. The way he is standing on it looks rather odd, both by his stance and the way the barrel is uninfluenced by him - he does not appear to be exerting any weight on the barrel.
The gems on his gut-plate don\'t look gem-like. There are enough tutorials on it around, but the top of the gems should be darker than that.
But don\'t think i dislike the model entirely :p.
The faint traceries of scars really do look quite neat; he is quite the veteran.
His trousers are very impressive. That freehand must have been exasperating work. But well worth the time, i would say.
The little freehand parts are also great, so much better than being one colour. The belt is the most subtle, but probably the best for that, and when carefully examined again yields the mountaineater symbol.
I think my favourite thing about might be the blade. A wonderful beaten/corroded/worn/sharpened look. Hard to describe, but very well executed in any case.
