@ vincegammer - Hi Vince. I like what you did with the smoke and the eye. As to the questions you PM\'d me - it takes some small, very sharp scissors and gently pulling the piece you are trying to cut out and clipping it \'down in\' to get a deep, clean cut. What you have isnt that far off. The OVERALL shape could be a bit more reandom.
Painting the smoke - I wouldnt recommend ink. It\'s too thin. When I said to get it wet with the yellow I ment to have it DAMP, not dripping. Once you have the yellow in you can use a bit of thicker paint but use a stiffer bristle brush to SCRUB in the orange/red/brown/black. The initial dampness will help with blending. Sometimes I will go back with thick yellow and put some touches in the crevices to \'kick the glow up\'.
The eye is well painted but what is hindering the real glowing of it is what surrounds it. You DONT NEED TO GO TO BLACK, just darker than the eye. You also dont need to darken the whole mini. With a little finesse you can darken the face till it\'s darker that the eyes, the rest of the head not so dark and from the neck down normal. It\'s something that needs to be (in a compositional way) blended in with the overall scheme. Remember - You dont have to get the surrounding area real dark, just darker than the lightness of the eyes.
Try that and repost a WIP.
