I think it looks very good, especially the cloth. I'd gladly accept it any time.

that said, the skin and the hair looks a bit flat from the pictures.
skin: some middletones to bring it to life. Now it looks too uniformly skin-colored-paint.
hair: 1 or 2 extra highlight to make it shine. Pushing the HL-s toward white would make it look more shiny. Right now it's a bit dull, as if it were unkept/dirty. Maybe that looks great and it's only a personal thing, as I like the shiny-looking-hair in minis.

also: it won't affect shows, where you'll be taking it, but you should take the mini to a photo-studio to have better images.

Yes looks good, I would like to see a few close up shots - can not really comment on the quality of the painting from such a distance.

It passes the 3' test right now, but I'd also like some closer shots to see how it holds up under 3" scrutiny. The skin will be hard because you want to push the contrast without pushing the definition too much or she'll look kind of manly.

Here is a larger version. Her skin is pretty subtle but I think the shading is appropriate for female skin as I don't want to masculinize her too much. I also wanted to keep her pale and pink to emphasize the theme of the peice. Oh and this is the 32mm piece and is TINY.

The hair looks better this close. The skin looks very soft - That sounds weird. She's a small 32mm.

It got taht way totally by accident. I struggled with the face and it goobered up on me so I had to do glaze after glaze to smooth it back out, what you see here was the result, super labor intensive but its a new look for anything I have done before.

It's a great piece. I think to get a "9" you would have to add a creek to the base or something.

I would like to see the poem printed out onto some parchment paper weathered a bit with your paint brush and put on the plinth.

Maybe just a little shadow around her elbow. The arm looks a little flat.

Also I would experiment with some manual focus shots if that is an option. Parts of the tree look a little sharper then she does. If you could move that around you might have a better photo.

First of all, Thanks! good idea with the poem, I was trying to figure out how to include it. Its actually a bit of an old welsh folk song.

My camera is kinda crap for minis and I'm crap at taking pics of minis. I have gotten better but I really need to upgrade my setup when I get some more space. Tripod, light tent that sort of thing. I think that would do a lot. I've messed with the manual settings but its kinda hard to use without a tripod.
