Wouldn\'t life be better without the pain of feelings?

My arse we are!

Edit: One has to wonder, if someone has a frontal lobotomy, will they \'forget\' what feelings are and how they made them feel? Does everything associated with feelings just go away, or do they just become incapable of feeling again? One thing is fairly certain: they wouldn\'t give a damn.

\"It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion, maybe we\'d know some kind of peace. But we would be hollow - empty rooms, shuttered and dank. Without passion we\'d be truly dead.\"

NSA, I must agree.

I spent a couple of months in the anti-depressant haze. If you\'d have told me my house burnt, family died and I got fired all in one instant, I\'d probably have said \"That\'s nice. What\'s for lunch?\"

Not a place I ever want to visit again.

Life goes along in a grey haze for years and then in a short period of time you get slapped in the face with the most intense emotions you\'ve ever felt. And when that happens it\'s not just the bad but the good as well. It\'s a rollercoaster and all you can do is grab on to the lap bar and scream your way through the ups and downs, trying not to hurl on the guy next to you.

The thing is, eventually it will all go grey again for a few more years. That\'s just the way it is.

Without emotions, we wouldn\'t care.
Without feelings, we wouldn\'t care.
We look at the prospect of being empty of feelings with horror, considering this lack of feeling to be pitiful and \"dead\". Yet to such a person, would it matter? To such a person, they would neither know nor care. If given a choice, such a person would probably choose to be as they are, just as we choose to be as we are.

For a change, the grass is always greener on the side of the fence we\'re on.

That\'s great Liz. Now just substitute the word dancer for the word bar ;)

we need to experience pain and other feelings for a reason. If we never experience pain we never learn and if we never learn we will never progress.

Even though it sucks, and I\'ve been feeling emotional pain all this weekend, it is necessary in order to truly appreciate the good we enjoy in life.

So, no life would not be better without the pain of feelings. It would be worse.
