Wraithknight Finished!

Hey guys first post here. I've been painting miniatures again for about 10 months now. The last time I touched a paintbrush before that was back in the 90's when I was a kid. I gotta say I love this hobby and am always up for critiques and/or criticism because I believe it will only make me better.

With that being said, here is my latest project from start to finish. My main focus on this piece was a custom base from scratch that would really stand out as this is going to be a centerpiece of my Eldar Army. Thanks to Dave Paints for the inspiration on the color scheme of the knight himself.

1. Basic base using cork board, sand, plastic tubing and copper wire..

2. Dead carnifex. First time trying a custom sculpted model for a base

3. Primed

4. Added the base colors

5. Primed and scuplted

6. Added some additional detail to the base; plants, highlights, etc

7. Final details on the carnifex and base..

And here's the finished product. I'm torn on whether or not to add some blood to his right food and more to the carnifex..

The base is really amazing.

But the model is far too airbrushy for my tastes.

Also, the joint lines on the legs are very obvious. Consider filling them with either plastic putty or liquid green stuff and giving them a good sanding.

I really appreciate the feedback thank you! My next project will use more blending vs airbrush and will take the time to putty the joints.

I think this has been very well done. Airbrushing is an art in itself and to do well at it is something I would like to achieve. How tall is this figure as if it's as big as I think then it would take a true master to achieve blends across areas this big.
