Xbox 360 sucks!!!!

Okay, before anyone blows their wad on one of these little beasts, let me tell you some of the things to expect. I bought one the other week and am speaking from personal experience.

1) It sounds like a helicopter taking off. Seriously, this thing sounds like a hairdryer.

2) Hard drive...Yeah! 20 gigabytes??? Would anybody seriously buy a 20gig drive for their PC? I just bought an external drive and it boasts 300 extra gs.

3) It doesn\'t play old Xbox games How styooooopid is that? That wouldn\'t be quite so disastrous if it wasn\'t for ....

4) There are no decent launch games for it, in fact the whole range of available 360 games must be about 6.

4a) the small number of Xbox games available are a) crap and b) extortionately expensive...$100!!

5) The swines try and sell you two years guarentee for about $120lol

6) Xbox Live..Yeah! An additional $80 a year, plus $120 for the wireless extra...

7) Plays your MP3s. No it doesn\'t! My Xbox appears to be incompatible with my Creative products...Now forgive me if I am wrong, but Creative are the second largest MP3 player...

8) Connects to your computer..No it doesn\'t. At least mine doesn\'t after a week of faffing about.

9) The power supply. You\'ve really got to see this sucker...it\'s bigger and heavier than a brick.

Save your money...buy minis..wait for PS3.

I thought it DID play old X-Box games(cuz I got loads)! But, maybe you have to buy the $100 harddrive feature....maybe I\'m wrong.

I was slightly intrigued at one time about the 360, but the more I am finding out the less I am intrested.

Plus, most of the games I like are on the PC anyhow.

Sorry you lost your hard earned dosh on a pile of poo!!

lol nice review, well cant say i wasnt waiting for another X-disaster... but not playing old x stuff im suprised ??? thats like really killing it at birth...

PS3 will have my money... just the range of old games alone makes it a winner... any news for wen it will be in europe?

Sorry to hear about your huge waste of money.... :(

I\'ve always stuck with my Playstation ever since getting the PS1 waaay back in 1996. Stick with what works. ;)

My PS2 is sitting in the entertainment center gathering dust.
Did I happen to mention this?

It plays xbox games

Okay the 360 is backwards compatable, but you need software for it and thus the hard drive.

From M$: A software emulator is required for each original Xbox game you play on your Xbox 360™ console.

Okay just noticed a loophole. It is only backwards compatable with North American games, guess you are screwed in the UK.

To play old Xbox games you need to go on Xbox live (even the free silver edition) and download the patch though its REALLY annoying that all of the fairly new xbox games I got for Christmas (Earned in Blood and Call of Cthulhu dont work and I dont have live) . The reason it sounds like a helicopter if because if it didnt people would complain even more about them melting. The harddrive is more than capable of holding more than enough save files. Its not like it has to hold all the files to make it work in addition to the game saves aswell like a pc would.

And PS3 will have lesser graphics, no harddrive, no all in one online package, a controller that looks like a banana gone wrong and most of all it has no Elder Scrolls: Oblivion!!!!

And dont get me started on the Nintendo Revolution...

But hey, if you dont like like, you dont like it.

the gamecube its cheap and reliable
im thinking of a new pc for gaming especially strategy games

2 of my mates have 360\'s and they are quite happy but i havnt really spoke to them properly about it

thanks, i dont think ill be shelling out that kind of cash for a hunk of crap anytime soo. ill wait for the ps3 thank you. even though the graphics arent as good, the games are much better (\'cept for bioware stuff). i hope they make a new rachet and clank (other than a deadlocked type thing).

Computers need cooling sure, but there are quiet fans/heat sinks available. My PS2 is about 1/8 the size and virtually silent in comparison.

The harddrive is more than capable of holding more than enough save files.

I agree again, but XBox is being touted as a multi-media device? I could fill 20G five times over with my music collection alone, and as for my photos....

For the money, no one would expect it to be a true multi-media solution but 20G is extremely stingy in my books;)

I wont lose too much money, I may even eBay the thing but at the moment I\'ll stick with my PS2.

Wait, about a week or two until Elder Scrolls: Oblivion comes out. You wont play anything else for the rest of the year.

It is just about to be released in NZ but I am waiting for Halo3. I have to say Halo is about the only game I play anyway.

Well im sorry to hear the xbox 360 is not good enough for the likes of you :)

Personaly i waited in a line, over night, for 21 hours, in rainy, near freezing weather, and IT WAS WORTH EVERY SECOND.

So all you would-be-buyers, take reviews with a grain of salt, just cause finn thinks its the anti-console, and i think its the best thing since sliced bread doesnt nessecarilly mean you will think the same thing as either of us.

Why i like it;

I personaly have not been incovenianced in any way by the space on the hard drive, most of the games i play from my old xbox, like halo 1 and 2, are backwards compatable, the ones that arent i just play on my old xbox /shrug i meen its not like they advertise that this thing will make you lunch and change your diper for you. You still gota get up off the couch from time to time.

The games on the market at the moment are IMO pretty good, COD2 is INTENSE to say the least, PDZ aint bad, PGR3 is cool, im not into the sim driving but i have allot of friends who are really into it. I get my driving kicks off of RR6, which is a great arcade style racer, and then you have GRAW which is a fabulous tactical shooter.
Graphicaly im happy with it, i think they look good at the moment, but when you compare old xbox launch titles like halo 1 to present games like halo 2, its pretty clear to see that the 360 has allot of room to improve over the years.

Live market place is probably my favorite feature, the fact that i can DL a demo of a game thats comming out, and play it before i buy it, THAT alone is worth the cash, granted marketplace is still new so there are not allot of demos at the moment, but imagin it is a year? You will be able to brows threw lists of titles that maybe you missed when it was realeased, and then based on that make decisions about what games youd like to commit to purchasing.

I dont like the game prices, (i dont know where finn saw 100, 60 is the very highest ive ever seen) but i know why they charge it, it cost 525 to creat an xbox 360, thats in part cost, so they lose a couple hundred when you buy it, and they need to sell launch titles at 10 more than usual to pay for the loss.

Again take my opinion with a grain of salt, might be that im ignorant and too easily pleased, is so, im sure as hell enjoying it!

Ugh... I would buy a 20gig drive for my PC. I only have a 9gig drive right now. But then again i don\'t play many video games so the Xbox 360, all the PSs and Nintindos are useless to me.
