WOOO-HOOO!

GW bashing!!!!:D

No wonder mobile phones are always getting nicked - it\'s 13 year old 40K-ers trying to get enough cash together to buy GW\'s life-enhancing products.....

They can kiss my rusty bullet-hole.....:D

This has been going on as long as I have been buying GW products. My first blisterpack of 4 darkelves cost £1.50. What is it, £6 now for 3??? (before latest price hike)

Im glad I have about 4 complete armies and Im not new to the hobby. I would be buying other manufacturers.

They still do the odd good thing, but not that much. That, and the cast quality is often shocking. It takes 3 times as long to prepare a GW in comparison to Rackham etc....

Cast em quick, sell em\' \'over priced\'.

lollollollollollol

Ebay is a victim of its own sucess, people get \'bid happy\' and end up paying over the odds. As a \'northener\' I dont like paying over the odds. So I set my price and dont go over it!

Too many dim-wits bidding daft prices:duh:

What is wrong with you people? EVERYTHING goes up in price eventually, it\'s called inflation. Cars used to cost $500 in North America way back when. Why dont you got bitch at Ford, Jaguar and whoever else sells these obviously NO BETTER or IMPROVED cars to the dumb public who pay more than they used to! Oh no!!!

F\'in inflation, it\'s like taxes and death, it\'s gonna happen. If you think GW sculpts are sub standard then bitch about that, but good luck finding a plastic regiment box set from Warmachine or Confrontation.

I love the Warmachine minis and also the Urban War stuff, but I do still buy GW from time to Time ie the Ogre Army which by their prices for the individual items was a good deal.
But the bottom line is they make the minis that the majority of the wqargaming fraternity (Sci Fi & Fantasy) want and even Warhammer Historical is coming more to the front these days.
Their games systems are widely played and they have a reasonably tight hold on the market. Especially in the UK. Love em or hate em the\'re here to stay I think. What pisses me off more though is like the upcoming 30th anniversary weekend and all they have to show is a High Elf (WOW) and a witchhunter mini that has been around for ages if you are prepared to pay through the nose prices on e-bay.

Another GW-whining thread. hurrah I should be able to get something out of that bacardi limon bottle.

But frankly I\'m getting tired of all the bitching. I agree that GW\'s very pricey, but have you all forgotten that we live in a capitalistic economy? Every large company take out the highest price they can without loosing their grip on the market. Hopefully the competition from Warmachine in particular will lower the prices eventually.. but once they get bigger they\'ll probably raise their price too. That\'s the way of the world today.

If you don\'t like it change the system.

The main reasons I still buy GW\'s are:

That I want to paint minis from their universe I really like the fluff.

They DO IMO have some of the nicest sculpts availble. (and some of the worst)

I only buy to paint, and I paint 1-2 figures a month right now. That\'s not an expensive hobby.. it\'s really affordable.

Last, and foremost, they are the only brand available for me here. ;)

A word about Warmachine and Privateer Press:

I was at my local gaming store buying a blister of Sisters of Battle and a box of Khador Widowmakers at the same time a couple of months ago. The SOB blister had three figs in it at a price of $12.00. That\'s $4 a figure. The Widowmakers, which are comparable in size to the SOBs cost $16.99 for the box of four of them. That\'s $4.25 a figure. Warmachine and Iron Kingdoms are categorically NOT cheaper than GW, yet no one complains about it. I wonder why?

I was talking to the manager of the shop I frequent, and he surmised that people don\'t complain about the price of the Warmachine figs because you allegedly need fewer miniatures to play the game. This despite GW\'s push for skirmish-level games in their core systems over the last couple of years (WFB Skirmish and 40K in a Flash are both popular in my locale).

For that matter, Reaper\'s prices have gone up fairly dramatically in the recent past, too.

Screwy.

Never!:duh:

Inflation in the UK is currently at around 1.6%. Explain a 20% price rise to me..............

I believe they are squeezing the goose\'s head to make it lay more eggs!:D

Changing of the seasons!! But it is a fair point on a price comparrison. GW are the biggest and therefore have a bloody big target hanging over their heads.

Its like bad-mouthing Manchester United???

Which I do!
