The thing about GW price hikes is that other companies will follow suit. They see GW charging X amount for whatever and they think, \'yeah, we can do that too\'. It\'ll happen. And as for other companies being better value for money... I dunno. Prices are pretty steep across the board. Some give slightly better value, but nothing that I\'d say was stunningly good value. Even those small one man band companies (we all know the ones!) are hardly giving away their odd and end type ranges! That\'s why I\'ve gotta laugh when I see the prices go up. And like mugs we still buy the bloody things!

I was talking to the manager of the shop I frequent, and he surmised that people don\'t complain about the price of the Warmachine figs because you allegedly need fewer miniatures to play the game. This despite GW\'s push for skirmish-level games in their core systems over the last couple of years (WFB Skirmish and 40K in a Flash are both popular in my locale).
Screwy.

Yeah, us old timers remember when the second edition came out of W40K, and the points cost on all the troops dropped considerably, so that if you wanted to compete in a 2000 pt battle you had to buy more figures to bulk up your army.

Actually, try Krylon sandable primer. It\'s much better than GW and does cost an insane amount of money.

Yet another GW price hike. But all you CMON\'s will still carry on buying their stuff. Unless you do what I do and NOT buy any of their stuff anymore from them, look for online retailers.
I hardly ever buy any GW stuff at all! Other manufacturers have much cooler minis. I use GW\'s spray primer since that is very good, and I can get that cheaper from an independent store.

Now, where did I put my bottle of brandy...

Actually, everyone is complaining about the frequency of the increases and the poor quality of the miniatures. I used spray primer on some Vipers I bought for $25.00 a pop and the plastic started bubbling. Why? I\'m guessing it\'s a cheaper plastic. I tried the same primer on model kits that were not GW and nothing happened. Other people have experienced the samething.

I have stop buying GW stuff entirely. I don\'t even buy that over priced food colouring they call paint. I made some purchase of miniatures a few months ago that haven\'t gotten here from home, but that\'s it. I have decided to give my money to Dark Age (The rules and sourcebooks are free. A Warband is $40.00. Nothing else needs to be bought. Go play kids!!!:) ) , Warmachine, Vallejo, and Rackham. I also buy Heresy, Hasslefree, and some of the others out there. If these guys get too expensive I\'ll just stop buying miniatures and paint only the stockpile I\'ve accumulated over the years.lol

What is wrong with you people? EVERYTHING goes up in price eventually, it\'s called inflation. Cars used to cost $500 in North America way back when. Why dont you got bitch at Ford, Jaguar and whoever else sells these obviously NO BETTER or IMPROVED cars to the dumb public who pay more than they used to! Oh no!!!

F\'in inflation, it\'s like taxes and death, it\'s gonna happen. If you think GW sculpts are sub standard then bitch about that, but good luck finding a plastic regiment box set from Warmachine or Confrontation.

oh that sounds.. tragic. But.. cheaper plastics? I doubt they save much money on that. If they used cheaper plastics I believe the level of details would go down also. But I\'m no expert. Maybe they don\'t do enough quality checks?

A solution? Just convince their top-designers to leave the company if the prices don\'t go down. (Jes Goodwin and the lads) The consequences would be fatal. I bet they are very well paid to stay in the company.

Who runs GW anyway? The stockholders?

Yep, pretty much!

They need to raise the prices to cover their CEO\'s pay rise this year - from around 800k p.a up to 1.2m p.a....

Bet the shop-floor grunts aint getting a 50% pay rise!!

I wonder what the CEO of GW does, really. :]

CEO to his staff:
\"OK, we need to increase production of Night Goblins by 10 % and Dwarf Ironbreakers by 15 %! Then we should cut back the production of Blood Angels Space Marines by lets say 20 %. I understand we have a poor selection of grey paints, so maybe we need to look into that?\"

I don\'t know...

The CEO probably invests the money in dodgy plantations around the world and gets even more money from illicit doings!

How can anyone be worth £1.2m? What an incredible salary, better than most top footballers lol. Still, success shouldn\'t be knocked.
