At present I\'ve just about finished the rider. I\'ve only got the hair behind her ears to add once the rest of it has cured.

It\'s meant to be our daughter Kate hence the huge plait. When she had her first riding lesson last year she spent the whole time bouncing round on the saddle like she had a rubber bottom so this is kind of appropriate.

How are you planning to suspend her above the saddle? Just stiff wires of the reins on the bridle?

Actually just with a bit of wire from the saddle I did think of using wire for the reins but it wouldn\'t work properly.

All done, I\'m just off to varnish her.

I photoshopped the wire holding the rider from the last photo, naughty Undave lol

This guy is going to be my entry for the Westwind competition on WaMP. I had originally thought of putting him under a lamp post with tons of OSL but then I decided it would likely leave areas of the model too dark to see properly so I went for a rather different approach.

I\'m aiming to make it look like an old newspaper photo in black and white with a very subtle sepia tint. To get this effect I\'m limiting my palette to just five paints; Chaos Black, Badab Black wash, Astronomicon Grey, Deneb Stone and Skull White.

I\'m happy with it so far as I did a greyscale on the image above and apart from the background it hardly looked any different.

It\'s finished enough to get it entered into the WaMP westwind comp but I think I\'ll need to re-visit the base at some point. It\'s been an interesting project this one, I\'d certainly consider doing something in this style again.

The figure is awesome, but it really bothers me that there is such a big difference between the color tones of the mini and the background. The base/background looks like it contains a lot of sepia.
