You know, there\'s nothing quite like doing a 3 year degree in fine art to really put you off art for life!
These days most people resort to conceptual art because they don\'t need any talent or skill to pass it off as art apart from the ability to convince someone it is! You should have seen the talentless bunch of wannabee\'s that made up the bulk of my fellow students. There were a few skilled \'artists\' in there though, people who actually had talent and ability (and no I wasn\'t one of them!). Probably half of my year (about 40 students of various ages) were more interested in playing at being artists. This involved turning up late, going for a coffee and a nasty roll-up, coming back to the studio, moving a few bits around, coming up with the next mind numbingly dull idea, and then going back to the bar for a pint and more roll-ups.
