I like this thread. I have to say that I'm a bit envious of some of the spacious setups some people have. Space is one thing I have very little of in my place, and I also have a 4 year old son and two cats to contend with. What I did was get a 2nd hand Alve corner cabinet computer desk from Ikea, and cram my painting setup inside. That way, I can open it up when I want to sit down and paint, and simply close it up and secure the doors when I'm done. Keeps the dust, kid, and cats out, and looks quite a bit more cleaner when people come over to visit (the non-gamers, I mean. Gamers understand a messy painting station. Non-gaming in-laws don't).

I've currently got two daylight lamps in there that fold in when the doors close, and I'm trying to figure out how to mount racks on the inside of the doors and along the inside walls of the cabinet for all my tools and paints. The airbrush is also stashed within, as well as a laptop computer and various painting tools and supplies. Like I said, it's a pretty nice compact setup, and if it wasn't for the messy bookshelves all around it, it would be a fairly presentable setup. At least, my wife's much happier with this setup than what I used to have (stuff sprawled over the living room table).
Speaking of which, I went over to Ikea recently, and they are temporarily discontinuing the Alve desk line. However, the salesperson I spoke to said it was because they were switching factories, and there was a new model in the works (to be released soon).

Very handy just to be able to close the door. I have bought a new cabinet though now that is better dust sealed. Space is definitely an issue in my apartment as well., Ikea ftw, eh?
