Funny how we do something for years upon years and find out one day a simple trick that would have saved hours of pain and frustration. Thanks for the info good sir.

It has been mentioned in other areas that you definately want the pieces in the right spot, because the bicarbonate treated superglue bond is a real bear to take apart if you mess up.

Yes! Krule is right - line up your pieces cause you can actually bend, warp or break them even worse trying to get them back apart if they are misaligned!!! I pinned Alice's legs for alignment purposes only using a fine gauge florist wire.

Zab, make friends with a guitarist, the strings make incredible pinning materials. BUT make sure to buy a good magnet incase bits fall, drop, or spring.

Oh and for information Alice isn't holding Machete's they are Khukri's. Beloved and traditional weapon of the Ghurka's.
Small, tough little beggers and insanely brave to a fault. One of the most famous regiments in the British Army.
Met a couple of Ghurka squaddies once, had the privelidge of buying them coffee. Look them up on wikipedia some time.

Thanks WGS. I actually had a pretty vivid nightmare involving a clown chasing me through the parking lot at work the other day. I never dream so I'm going to blame the cough syrup (and 10 & moonmin82). Thanks for the info DR! I was at a loss as to what they actually were. Very cool. The Lady Inquisitor got me this for my birthday:

Ostensibly to clear brush at the cottage, but she whispered "It'll be good for..ya know, when it all falls apart..." Still not sure if she was threatening me or reassuring me...

:loser: That is some seriously creepy shit. I'm glad I have my zombie slaying blade here (Why am I always unarmed in my dreams?!). All terror aside, you and moonmin should be super proud that the sculpt and paint job have evoked such strong feelings from me. 25+ years of skateboarding and snowboarding have given me a very calm detachment in dangerous or sketchy situations, so to have my heart rate spike from a mini is pretty cool - I was afraid I was dead inside :vampire:

I'm home sick so I made a little progress on Alice between naps, neo-citran and painting the basement stairs. Her base is where I want to leave it until it is time for the dry pigments to pull everything together. I also started her skin with a base coat and some shading to give her a sun kissed undertone.

~sigh~ Back to painting stairs...:wilt:

LMAO, that was just MESSED UP Ten. I mean why would you do that to the poor guy. On his own thread. OMG that was funny but messed up. Sorry Zab. Like what you got going on with Alice, I was curious but why does she looked textured in the picture. Kind of like gray/white. As for the zombie blades, one can never be over prepared for any situation....even the zombie apocalypse. I have my massive double bladed battle axe at the ready all the time :p

The irony is that since we are all ready for the Zombie apoc it will never happen or we will be at work as far away from our blades as possible. It's cool Digga. I'll consider it immersion therapy ;) The spotty bits on Alice are from the 2 tone priming. I actually did 3 tone on this one. A dark grey underneath a light grey from straight on and a white from directly above to help me see where shadows and crap would fall and pre-shade the mini a bit. So some of the overspray from the white on top makes her look a bit gritty.

I like the way the sandy base is shaping up. Nice colors.

I thought the Zombie Apocolypse already occured...what else could explain half the people i encounter in Walmart

Thanks Maxx! Lord what a Saturday that was! 6am wake up to take little one to snowboard lessons, rush home, get ready for Brother In Law's wedding, head back out. The whole days was fun, but one of those where when you go down it's not so much sleep as just plain unconsciousness. Here is a little look at what The Lady does with her hobby time:

Scratch made card from various elements found at Micheal's during random trips. I got little more done on Alice. I may need to go back and glaze in some more tanned colors in places and I may do one more very, very light highlight. I will finish up the rest of her first and she what that does to her complexion.

Blowing up these pics sure makes her look grainy, but if I don't she's so tiny it's hard to make things out. 32mm my butt! 28mm at best.

Nice Card! My wife made these really great felt Christmas stockings for the boys this year. They came out really nice. I felt proud to share the hobby space.

Do you ever do much snow sliding?

Staying tuned for the face PJ. I have heard that matte varnish will fix up grainy or dusty paint but have yet to get it to work.
