Well, I added the glints like Demihuman suggested. Much better BTW. I also got he armor to a point where I can call it cartoony enough to tweak once I see it on the base. It's just the gem on his clasp and his eyes. The Gem will be purple to help tie him to the dragon and this eyes will be a hazel or brown. The pics are a bit harsh as i am still in my temp hobby space. Soon...soon all will be back in order...soon.

I know I've seen him before, but all decked out like this reminds me of a Fighter NPC I made for comic relief- Mighty Mite. :D It's amazing how you've made a nice balance on the realism of the NMM so I can believe it's cartoony, but still believable.

Thanks! I can't believe how hard it is to make it look like this. I have to fight every instinct of where to put the colors, how much to blend them and when to stop. It's still really fun trying to make the mini work while breaking most of the "rules" so to speak.

Yeah. Until i get it on the base it's not really done. I've never worked like this before. It feels like a lot of "this is good, but I'll do more when I get it on the base". For instance the sword blade needs more contrast, but I don't want to add that until i am done the dragon because i want to see how much purple to add to my grey to make it look like the dragon is reflecting in the blade a little. I feels very chaotic - fun, but chaotic.

Okay knocked out the gem and the eyes. At this point he's "done" you know, except for final tweaks ;) I may go back and add a fenris grey highlight to some of the edges of his armor just as a better transition into the white glints and of course the sword will get some more contrast and maybe some reflections of the dragon or the flames.

I'm moving onto the dragon next. It'll be a while though since The Lady Inquisitor and I are taking The Agent of Chaos on a pilgrimage to the most evil place on earth; Disney.:tremble: Then of course Jk starts in September and after that I have to finish up the basement. :at-wits-end: I am so not making that mid September contest deadline. Oh well.

Dude he looks great. loads of expression in the face. The armor and gem are really well done. Nice, smooth blend on the cloak, NMM on the sword looks awesome. 10/10 buddy cant wait to see the dragon!

Ya looking good! A little shiny but maybe that is the photo. His lips look like he might be smoking. What do you think about adding a cigarette? Maybe just between his fingers like he is blowing out smoke? If i were fighting a dragon I would want to be breathing through a filter!

Lovely work! I love it. The highlights are beautiful. A nicely made base and perhaps dust, dirt and weathering might go some way to giving this character more life.

Yeah ischa, but it is a gas fire place. I wish we had a wood burning one though - sadly insurance said that would void our fire coverage (I understand, but still - jerks). The basement gets cold in the winter - I will bet more so now that we have tile instead of carpet. Yes, Demi The Lady is VERY happy and i have so much more pride in my house than i did before since it was my blood, sweat and tears that restored it. Man, I really need to baptize that desk with some paint smears... looks too new...

Yay! Got some fun painting done for a change. The Dragon's hide is now done. I didn't do as much hard highlights as on the knight, but it's a more organic surface so I think it needs to be a bit more subdued (but still cartoonish).

Ten get out of my head ,man! Yep, that's the idea for the eyes - the wings, tummy, spines and tongue are going to be a pinkish maroon (screamer pink from citadel) so I'll definitely bring some of that into the nose and gums with some glazes (maybe even a bit under the eyes). I might even use Skel's smoke tutorial on the mouth a little like he just finished blasting out some fire...
