Congrats on the win Zab and do not eat all the morels. Lol :) Btw if that cone is just a molded plastic piece use it as a mold. Fill it with plaster and when dry, pop it out and you should have a properly sized pylon.

First off congrats on the wins buddy. Well deserved and the dragon should of won in my opinion but Ill alway favor your work over others I don't know anyways :p as for the dwarf...I'm digging the sign and think you will tie it in nicely when it's painted. Maybe you could give a curve to one of the top corners to give it some wear and tare. Now my favorite base you have gone above and beyond my wildest dreams for a base on him and my jaw will require surgery when it's done. However I expect a permanent drool complex to follow. The mushrooms are stellar.

Thanks guys! Glad you like it digga! yeah i think i may have to attack that sign with my xatco blade. It does look a little too well maintained for a sign from a construction site.

Congrats on the awards. Definitely well deserved!

I like what you're doing with the bases. I'd go with the sign. Seems like you could be creative and do a fantasy twist on a traditional road sign. Something like centaur crossing, warning dragon ahead, etc. I'm sure you could come up with something fun.

IDE LIKE TO TAKE THE TIME TO CONGRATULATE Z A B IN NOT ONE BUT TWO SHINIES HE PICKED UP AT A VERY TOUGH SHOW. He worked hard weathered the storms even had a tough break I read regarding work. But honestly no one ever lets anything get them down when painting and competition is at stake. AND THAT MY COMMERADES IS THE POWER AND GLORY OF THE GREATEST CRAFT/HOBBY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. Congratulations zab and as they say onto the next.

Thanks Bailey and Blood! I really liked seeing the other pieces in person, i just wish i had gotten the opportunity to take more pics and talk with more of the other entrants. I was gonna do a dwarves at work or danger! over head draogns or some kind of play on the more popular constrcution signs :p

Honestly zab the way I see it it's science fiction/fantasy iow all make believe so making a hybrid type vignette should be right up your ally. Honestly the more wild and outlandish the idea the more of a standing ovation from all. Just do what zab does rely in your wit and imagination and come up with something so bonkers/ so off the beaten path / so looney the better the idea will be! Have fun with it , look to get a rise or even a humorous poetically I correctness can lend a hand. I'm not saying slander anybody but for instance a wizard of oz theme lollipop guild is what I'm talking about. Danger flying monkeys .. Midgets mugging a dwarf whatever ties into a world known funny "wrong" idea taken wholeheartedly is just going to knock the masses back and have thm saying wow that's lunacy but its a wickedly fun well painted lunacy. Lmao you see where I'm coming from zabs?!;)

Okay that's the one troll bridge ahead ,see I knew you were gonna come up with something clever zabs! You always do. Lol troll bridge ahead maybe just maybe a billy goats gruff... I know you remember that growing up.

Congrats on the wins i love the dragon. And your basing is awesome! Im gonna take a lot away from looking and hopefully apply it to my hobby!

Congratulations on the medals Zab, well deserved. The bases look really good as do the mushrooms. I've tried (and failed) to do green stuff mushrooms twice now and they looked bloody awful. my giant sausage fingers just can't seem to get along with it

Thanks CPT, basing is an art unto itself - really I'm just delaying the painting as i don't want to screw up Digga's nice squig ;) Darth, the mushrooms just come down to practice really. Look how many i did there? I think i may have tossed almost a third of them and even then i only used another third of what i kept. the rest are now in my bits box for later projects where i might need them. What WGS, chaos spawn, Digga and other awesome sculptors on here say is true, volume and repetition help you improve sculpting. Even my meager skills yield results with enough volume ;)

::high five Zab:: you are right about the repetition. I'm actually doing the same thing with hands at the moment. Amazing little excersize to be honest. As for painting the squig. You couldn't mess him up if you tried, and if you do I will just cast another one :p

Meager skills? "Looks back through the entire thread and at the scratch build dragon in particular" I think you're doing yourself a gross injustice there mate :)

Repetition gotcha. Looks like I need to bust on some tunes and turn myself into a mushroom making production line.

Don't worry I have a plan with the squig. Priming starting this weekend for the base and then i break out the AB again for the preshading and base coats. Darth that dragon wasn't scratch it's from SDE. I wish i could sculpt like that!
