At first I thought you dropped your bottle of LGS on her, then I thought she just started playing with it at night while you were sleeping. She is coming along though. Can't wait to see how you do the leaves.

Well Zab you continue to show us all that you are a true artist. That one leaf was what tugged at my emotions. Pure brilliance.

Ugh, so many rough spots, but this is my first big kit and it was a terrible cast so I am learning as I go. Big anime kits are very unforgiving. I will not smash her. I will not smash her. I will not smash her...:excruciating: It's all brush work and pigments from here on out so that should be fun. I will not smash her...

From where you started I think you've already achieved so much, and with your painting easily able to blend past any little problems. Lady Inquisitor please remove Zab's tools until he's finished ( No more smashed mini's on this site please)

Thanks gang :) Don't worry. I won't smash her. It's just one of those "i'm learning new things" minis that can be frustrating based on what you have in your head vs. what you actually get. Meph, i used water soluble oils and just stained a plain pine base with them then sealed it. Worked out nice! The brown and black seemed to pick out different grains and really bring them out. I have to work on The Agent of Chaos' halloween costume a bit tonight so that will be in place of hobby, though technically still using the same skills. I have to make head band with studs on it for her costume

so I have a plastic studded wristband that i can take the studs off

and put them on a plastic hair band

and boom - she has her replica Raven Queen head band. The Lady Inquisitor was all: "I wish this wristband was a hair band because she has everything for her costume, but that" :(
I was all like: "Woman PLEASE! You are married to a hobby nerd! One spiked head band coming up...":highfive:

Ahahahahahahahahahah! You fell for that hook line and sinker. Why in the world would you think she would phrase it like that...I wish this wristband was a hairband.....of course she knew you could do it and how to get you to do it all the while thinking you were the hero. Don't worry...I fall for it all the time too :( The things we do for love eh? (Uh oh, your Canadian ways are rubbing off on me)

I fell for nothing! I think if i wasn't into minis (and cripplingly shy) I would totally fabricate stuff for cosplay. I used to watch that show Heroes of Cosplay just to see how they made their costumes. I'd be shouting NO NO! You need more contrast! That sword looks like painted foam, not metal! You need a triple stitch on that Seam! It's load bearing - LOAD BEARING!!!! Also, I may have fallen for the old ruse, but they do gang up on me. The Agent of Chaos is all "Daddy can make anything!"

Lol, yeah there is no known armor or defense that can withstand the "Daddy's Little Girl Attack" NOTHING! Also I think you and I are a lot alike in the entire cosplay thing. I too want to make stuff for it but like you shyness is my downfall. I watch that show too and say OMG I can do better on some of the costumes...sadly I have to do something before I can actually say that.

Kingoms were attacked and razed to the ground by the power of a pout and pleading eyes. A quivering lower lip and soft whimper have beheaded many a brigand...

Ugh, slow going. Big kits are a bear. Blocked in more colors. Have to go back and define areas after shading and glazing. Skin will be last to help define shapes of eyes lips and other areas.

And a Dark Angel whose Plasma gun just overheated and will have scorched armour and little flames coming off his robes and banner...

I see ur problems with the primer, used to happen to me in winter, now i put the primer can and minis near a heater before priming,

Not too close though unless u are priming the whole room! :cyclops:

I should have stuck with vallejo and just primed indoors, but vallejo doesn't sand that well so going back and forth was going to be a pain. Another lesson learned :p

The going might be slow but the work is great, nice progress on Vampirella! Her hair is looking especially cool. I do think that her lipstick covers a little too much ground--above and below the lip is fine, but extending the red out beyond the corners of her mouth gets a little clownish.
