Couple more done.
I've prepped the whole set for painting (and some Star wars rebels minis from a star wars command set that the Agent of Chaos loves
The shit we do for our spawn I swear...) but won't get around to it until after I'm done with the NOFC stuff which should be arriving any day now
I'll throw the montage up in the contest gallery later tonight.

Nah, I rarely ever take commissions with a full time job and family. I just had the game and I have trouble playing with bare plastic figures - drives me nuts actually. The contest here and the exercise of a limited palette was a great excuse for me to have a little fun with the set

Thanks everyone Epic I tend to search "free textures" on flickr and then save a few. You can print them off at home (though that will easily kill your printer's ink with one or two pages) or a local shop like staples, costco or online like poster jack. Sometime the paper is a bit reflective and so the minis show up in it at the right angle which can be a nice effect.

A little surprise I am donating to the NOFC with my part of the army project this year. It's Sons of Orar space marines vs Eldar for the charity armies this time. So I thought: Well, I've got this menacing Eldar and this down on his luck marine and some plastic ninja turtle shuriken and this block of wood...
I'm sure you can see where I am going. More later.

Owww exciting, nice layout. pretty good flow and direction anything else you going to add to make it more adventurous, plenty of reading at Massive voodoo on baseing and direction

At this point I don't have much of a plan, but since its a craft world setting clean lines and smooth colors, very sparse. I may make the harlie very brooding and dark and the marine very contrasty too. Maybe even some blood FX from the marine because it will pop well on the wraithbone if I do it nice and pale.
OR
I may do the whole scene with the light coming from behind the harlie so he is back lit almost like a silhouette casting his shadow over the marine
Not sure I'll have time for something that ambitious though - either way I'm kinda free styling because for the army units I'll have to follow a paint scheme the whole group will be using so the army doesn't look like a mess.

Yeah I know what you mean, once it get late its just too hard put your mind to it. Having said that it rained and rained out side yesterday and I spent a few hours doing invoicing then two 2.5 hour painting sessions. Was very nice to do all sorts got Diggs base primed and my bro's base primed and then started painting a Dwarf because he has been sitting in front of my screen for 2 months in his package begging me.
