Weekend workshop with Fernando Ruiz done. HOLY CRAP! He uses acrylics like oils, but with a built in save point. What he does in 24hrs takes me 40+ It was incredible and mind blowing. I thought I was decent at wet on wet? No. And now I can do wet on wet with a save point and a limited palette O_O Retarder is the key NOT medium. RETARDER - and very little or no thinning. The last step is just crazy like a 2BB + wet on wet. It's opened up whole new possibilities, killed my fear of uber contrast and larger scales all in one fell swoop. IF you ever get chance to sit down in a class with this guy sell your F**ing soul to do it. Oh, and he's hilariously inappropriate. Not in a derogatory way, in a very refreshing self deprecating, who else is tried of all this PC bull crap, way. Definitely an adult audience mindset

Anyway, I barely scratched the surface of my first 65mm historical, but I can't wait to do more and what's more is I won't be scared or hesitant. Terrible WIP pictures?
Cheers :brushlick:
