A little bit of both. Also a lot of the green is a very thin wash i put over the areas in several coats. It wasn't that bad, but I'm trying to be thorough. Prep at this scale is super important.

Thank goodness. I'll need all the help i can get. She's pretty and intimidating. Like a lot of women i have dealt with o_O

Okay so i prepped her for priming by smoothing out the gs work with a quick brush of nail polish remover and then a rinse under the tap. also used it to treat the base a bit.

Then i primed her. Doing it a bit different on this one. Zeno from our local painting group suggested that a 10 oclock angle would have made my harley bust really weird and awesomer. F**k. he was right but i'm still happy with her and won't repaint her. So Leia here is getting a zenithal from 10 oclock from her gun arm across to the other side o_O Should be fun.

Now for the terror of me trying to decide my palette. White, leather, skintone, brown hair, lots of metals. But warm or cool, or both, muted or saturated or both....

I did not knew that GS could be smoothed with nail polish (or whatever acetone I suppose) will try it for sure.

Intrigued about your palette choices.... seems rather difficult...

Thanks. To be clear a very thin brushing of nail polish remover witha soft bristle brush can remove burs or finger prints in GS but too much will melt resin or plastic. so rinse the model well once you are done :) Also to be clear that is just a potential group colors. i won't be using all of them. i'm just pulling out every possibility to narrow down the look i want from all that ;)

Quiet you. That is about as messy as my desk ever gets. Damn this A-type personality! Can't... be... disorganized.

Yay another A-type! I call my painting station organised chaos. When I'm using things I don't mind if they're out of place slightly, but they get put back the second I'm done.

Looking forward to that bust, mate. It's already looking enticing, even in just the undercoat. Just like real wimmin.

Oh that looks like a fun one. Picking out the pallet can certainly be tough. She might look awesome with alien blue skin, like an alien or green.. Ooh orange? Lol. She does have a little Princess Leia thing going on maybe you could look at some star wars stuff for a color scheme. They have great warm scifi schemes.

Thanks! Yep, i found a bunch of cool steampunk leia drawings on deviant art which range from super cute to very sexy. It's helping me narrow my colors more too. classic white robe brown hair I think.

I always have all my washes and inks out because at that stage i just start to mix and grab what feels right, but the basic colors for each area are almost figured out. Here is the basic AB colors for the cloth skin hair and leather.

For skin and cloth i am going with a warm yellow tone on the side in light and working over to a purple tone on the shade side. The leather and hair will have basic coats done and then tinted and shaded with yellows and purples after detailing is done.
