did you use some pigment or oils for some of the dirt and grit? there is a little more work time and they are a little translucent which give a good effect.

Tee no problem! Any time I always take pics of my palette during a project so it easy for me to remember and answer questions! Canny, no man! Crazy thing is I just used paints my wet palette and water! I was going to finish up his base with pigments but kind of forgot and then after a second look I felt it didn’t need it. Anyway, he’s done took pics tonight will post them up later onto the test burgle marine and pinky eye -

my little girl is so over mlp and wants me repaint pinky pie in desaturated tones with pink eye and a cutie mark that’s a skull with x’s for eyes. After that Ahsoka repaint I’m in!

That’s a good question. It would appear that only this sample marine came with a scenic base as the ones in first strike and dark imperium are the standard black unadorned kind.

Thanks, it was the shades of blue/green brown that off set the ivory and made it seem more white. Weird experiments in color theory!

The original bulbs were 20w halogens with a daylight filter. They got hot as hell and eventually burned out. I replaced them with 50w daylight temp leds but had to add 3-4 layers of baking paper to get the diffusion down to a reasonable level because they were blowing out everything in the light box unfiltered! All good now though :brushwave:

No no. Get the led ones and diffuse them. They are safer and last longer than the halogen ones. That’s why I switched when I got the chance.

Lmao. I don't know how to diffuse them. I have some nice led but it puts these black shade lines in the image. I have it goi g through tissue paper.

These are the covers I bought for diffusing, but I had a large globe onthe back of my lights. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MU04SBK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have a set of those LED lights like Zab's, but didn't like them for taking photos. i guess i need to change those bulbs out to daylight too.

Yeah kB I have been very motivated since the win on Ahsoka and the test marine. Though he did have 2 false starts! Diggs just use white baking paper to diffuse then that way it won’t catch fire! You definitely need a set of lamps that doesn’t cast shadows for the covers even simple cheap ikea or Walmart work lamps on stands will do. Welcome to the hell of mini photography! I’ve seen professional photographers struggle with it so it’s not just you;)
