Bloodbowl Norse Lineman

Hi all, Here's the first model from my new Norse Bloodbowl team. A bog-standard lineman, but as these are the nuts and bolts of the team I thought I’d do them first. The model is made entirely from the plastic Chaos Marauders as I think the majority of the standard BB miniatures are pretty ropey! There are a few basic conversion bits on it. The left leg has been chopped up and moved to make him look more dynamic (The thought is that this guy will get the kick skill, hence the pose). The hands have been drilled out as they all come with weapons on the sprues and all the Chaos iconography has been removed, horns, eight pointed stars etc. For the palette I wanted the model to look as if he was wearing a "team strip" but not be too garish, so I went for an autumnal look with green, cream and brown. For the metal I used a rich gold to warm it all up a bit. I'm quite happy with the effect, but I’ll have to paint a few more before I can see if they unify well. The team logo was inspired by a piece of banner work by Matt Parkes. I really like his stone effect so I tried to replicate it. It's supposed to be a chamfered stone diamond in the background with a big "N" for Norse in front. As for the number, he is 7 because 1-6 is 2 blitzers, 2 throwers and 2 catchers. Any way, I hope you like it and, as always, all comments and feedback are greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone! :-) Dom

I really like this model, not sure what it is exactly, it just looks great. Especially the straps on his boots. Snow on the pitch is a nice touch too. The only (teeny) thing I noticed is that the area around the inside of his left hand should be shaded more I think...

Worth the wait Dom, Fleshtones are nice & smooth, Freehand is excellent. Helmet is maybe a tad too shiny (personal taste). Nice base work. -Mick
