nice conversion on the rat ogre! I dig the chain work and how its really got the being pulled feel to it.

Before I forget this: Give those static grass a try on the first rats nose. I think it would be an outstanding detail on it.

thanks all for support :good:

wicked conversion skell!!!
a friend and i are gone have a painting weekend to try some off that glazing of different colours which i consider u to be an absolute master in.
We want to try to glaze some mettallics; could u give any hints or suggestions what we should keep in mind when trying this??

can't wait to see your latest conversion painted so will keep checking you're wip :)
well, all i can say is that TMM shaded just with black is boring! you can use most colours. if you check out my primus death, for example, i used magenta to shade some of the metal details. just keep experimenting and keep an open mind :)

yeah ill give it a shot i think!

Hi Skel, if you tweak your base for these rat-ogres up to 2'x2' you could enter it as an Armies on Parade in GD UK? http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/co...?aId=15000005a (if link doesn't work it's the 27th Jan What's New Today post on the UK site). I confess to not reading the whole thing as I won't be attending GD & it would take me years to complete an entry anyway but I can imagine you having fun with it after your Orc squad :)
Cheers, B.

hey B, think it would be too much work (also, if it would take you years to complete than it would take me centuries ;) ) with another unit and a boss, had for sure been cool though. but i hope to be able to enter these rats and the green men at gd this year.

hello world!

looooong time since last update, but oh well. the miniature busieness have been in progress even if the amount of time is indeed limited.
anyway, the crouching ogre is finished painted (sorry, no pics..) but ive assembled the 3rd and last rat ogre. ive tried to integrate him more to the base with a more dynamic pose than the original static one, might look a bit wierd now but will look better when on his base; he is leaning his leg against the pipe.
head and arm is from the rat abomination box, the cevered heads are cut off an forgeworld nurgle terminatior shoulderpad, and the skull on his back is another forgeworld bit.
i originally wanted a banner on his back but cancelled that idea, looks more brutal without it, still searching for an option cos i want to paint a freehand motive somwhere. maybe one of the packmasters will hold one instead. anyway thats why he have a plate on his back, have to figure out what to do with it. some cleaning and final touches to do, then its painting time. unless someone got a kickass idea how to hot him, that is... ;)

Another great rat-ogre from you. Especially agree w. Empchild, I like the armor plates. They tie back to the rest of the skaven line well, and should give you some nice big metallic areas to have some fun painting. All the little spikes and shards sticking out of his shoulders are cool too. Can't wait to see him painted!

cheers ppl :) ive begun painting the rat and feel pretty happy about the conversion!

some other stuff, ive tried out to make a mould at work and ive done some plaster copies of an andrea (?) bust. had in mind to smash one and use on a base ( broken statue) for another upcomming project; the king of deads by metal models (sculpted by allan c) but the bust is a bit too big i think. anyway here's the result of the mouldmaking (original to the right):
heads.jpg

fairly happy although i failed a bit, forgot to use seperator liquid between the two sides of the mould so it was pretty much one solid block, had to use a knife to carve it in two. also, made the injection hole to small so the plaster clogged, so no whole copy were made. didnt press 100% either so there are some minor errors. cool to tryout anyway, next one will surly be better:smile-big:

of course, all projects are stalled pretty much by the little monster

he has to wait a while for the brush though!
