I'm liking the progress here. The purple and flesh tone are working very nicely with each other. Although I would not have thought of it myself the suggestion about gloss varnish is a good one. I think it would look double cool also. maybe a yellow ink glaze before hand could be cool also

Haven't been able to do much. Joints and hands been hurting something fierce here lately. Doctors running tests but i wont know whats up till monday. In the mean time i started working on one of my top ten things i love to paint.... a succubus! Everyone has their "thing". In the art and mini world i have a thing for succubi :) Since my hands hurt too much to do much brush work i grabbed one of the garage kit succubi kits to AB. I spent a few days trying to decide what colors i was going to use. Since the last one i did was red, i wanted to do one with blue skin. Her base will probably be an ice setting. I may take the chance to try some water and/or ice effects i got from woodland scenics. Anywhoo here are some pics:

NSFW!

Cleaned and pinned:

Primed:

After Base coating her skin Reapers sky blue (I'm going to do her skin light to dark) Some spots i missed stood out like a sore thumb. So i sanded the troubled spots.

Gave her body a once over with the primer again:

Basecoated again:

Forgot to Take pics of the first coats of the legs/wings. But i am using reapers sparkling amethyst for the base coats. The sparkling amethyst is like a metallic purple and is very pretty. This is after i have put on a protective layer of gloss coat:

Here are the wings in the same stage. The legs and wings are not done yet.

I wanted to go with a hair color that was close to the sample colors scheme pic sent with the model kit. I Base coated her hair with Macharius orange:

Afterwards i noticed a lot of tiny errors i couldn't see before so i will repair them and re-coat her hair later.

Argh Moe - you're not making it easy to stay focused. Francesca is calling to me. Too bad my airbrush hates me. Maybe we'll have it out this weekend. The SO is working both days, so I can stink up the house with little repercussions...

@KB- I'm hoping the aches go away too but the doc is thinking it might be permanent. We shall see. Don't forget about the Gigantinormous box of minis that will arrive this month :) we should have a paint off :p

@WGS thank you sir!

@TrystanGST Yes you should! They have released some more Stryke Witches btw. I've used Reaper, GW, Vallejo, Army painter and Andrea through the air brush now and the only one of those that has an odor is the Andrea. The old GW washes smell bad too, but the Andrea has a weird musty odor. Only through the air brush too. Still works good though.

@SkelettetS Thanks! I don't have any kits with the super gigantahuge boobs Skell, sorry. Your just gonna have to make due.

@secretpaintgeek Its pretty good stuff. But its BEST on a 90+ summer day when its ice cold and your cooking on the grill. What isle are you from?

I'm in Jersey (The Original). Tiny island between france and the uk. Only 9 miles by 5 miles so we are pretty limited in what we get here. Its a nightmare for this hobby as there is nothing over here that supports it other than one toy shop that stocks a few GW bits and paints.

Paint off sounds good. I have been checking the Reaper forumn wips and they have given me some speed painting ideas to use on the bulk of the bones for table top. Probably the way to go to get painting time under my belt and with the limited time due to the two month old. If I shoot for that level it will help me stop procrastinating the last 10% of mini completion.

Moe - can you clean up the e2046 minis like you could smaller ones? I want to try Francesca again soon, but I need to get the old paint off and give her a good scrubbing. I think part of the problem I had with paint adherance was due to my neglecting to wash the parts first ><

@wargamesculptor -Thank you very much sir! Yes i have got my diagnosis. The nurse said "I have rheumatoid arthritis, and i need to see a specialist right away". So i will go see him next week and see just how bad it really is. I'm thinking this might be the final kabosh on my golden demon dreams, but we shall see what happens. Thanks for asking mate.

@TrystanGST- I dunno what type of stripping method you normally use, but i have not had a bit of trouble with simple green. In fact i normally soak them for 24 hours before priming. Then i normally wait 12-24 hours after they are primed before i paint em. I have read Power Purple(more powerful version of simple green) works well but i have not tried it yet.

Hey Moe
Sorry to hear about your hands, I'm enjoying your work. Hope you get some good news from the specialist. That succubus is coming along nicely.

Sorry to hear Moe, one thing my Dad swears by as he's suffered with this for many years is soaking his hands in warm salt water. Hope this helps and you get the demon you desire bud

Sorry to hear that Moe. I got regular arthritis in my shoulder a couple years ago and that hurt like heck (on top of the adhesive conectivitus in the shoulder)--football finally coming back to haunt me :). I expect you will find a work around to the pain...heck it may force you to develop a new Golden Demon winning style. Of course that means you will have to start painting more GW stuff. Lol. :)
