Some work done in the morning... making the dress orange and worn old not to clear colours. need to work more on this mostly started on front. Did accidently partly destroy green flower and will need to go back and fix it. Also started the backsideand will try to add a butterfly there also.

BTW inspiration is taken from earlier posted work on this site. Just don´t remember who did it at the moment.

Not been posting for a while, work came in between hasslefree painting in time for competition. So that project is now on the shelf.

Instead decided to continue with some GW army stuff and practice some more speed painting. I am aiming to get it decent looking from a distance (tabletop) and time wise it should take maximum 2 hours for painting a figure. Perhaps not that fast for some people, but I am not that fast a painter.

I am using washes and some glassing on base colour to get darker areas. Wetblending on the lighter parts to get some more speed. I didn´t start to time myself until after first basecoat was done on green colour.

The result below have taken 45 min on each figure so far, if adding time for basecoating around 1 hour I believe. That means I have one more hour to complete the paintjob...

Hi all,

Wonder if anyone checks this thread now :) Havent made an update for a very long time. Actually not been painting for a couple of months now. To many other things that have taken up time. Work for one thing...

Well I have now started to test paint some NMM, I have made a shoulder pad that have some good points and some not so good areas, just posting it here to get som suggestions what I could had made better. after that I will start on the other figure that I want to do the NMM on.

I like the effect at the top of the shoulder, didnt get the other spots to be as "shiny" and sharp as I wanted. they should be like a small spot that make the metalic come alive better. critisims and suggestion is always are welcomed.

Ha en bra dag allihopa :)

It's very smooth which may be the issue. I think you need harder definition between the dark and light areas - just in a few places to make it look like a real glint. Also you could go much darker with the darkest parts. Still, a good idea of where you are heading.

Can't comment on the nomnomnom as I never did it and since I'm already a glacial-slow painter, probably never going to either. :)

But I'm really digging your Scorpions. I love that dirty green look. Suits 'm nicely.

Thanks Zab and Meph for comments, much appriciated.

Have started to try this out on the figure that I wanted to paint, that is Sigvald. Have started on the stomach so far. it takes a lot of time and so easy to do something wrong. seeing the pictures I might need a little bit more midtone areas. Perhaps to dark now? and actually not really looking like metal. hmm help is appriciated. (will try some stuff and see if I can make it better.)

I've had my mid tones disappear too. I find that there is a lot of back and forth with NMM. It's a very hard style to work in.

Update, this time it is a failure that I want to Show.
I cant see it without the camera but I have used to much watery colours or to much colour on my brush. It is the face bottom part that is worse.

Will try to fix it if I can, also one eye need some correction to become good.

Got stuck on the NMM stuff, changed to a tabletop painted figure instead.

Just that I have problem creating OSL on it and also taking photos on Metalics is just damn hard. Can get it too look like it does in reality. it becomes to bright and colours disapear from the metalics in the photo. Any suggestion on how to capture true metalic painted figures in a good way? Also OSL from the sword suggestion would be appricated

On Sigvalds face did you wait for the paint layers to dry. Or maybe you need to build up more solid colour before highlighting.

Might be that I was too fast and the colour wasn´t completly dry... need to think about that :) Thanks for the point made.

Update on the painting, found some time.

Suggestions for improvements are always welcomed. Next steps will be some weathering and the base, towards desert base of some kind.

I have made some more progress on the "sniper" but no photos of that. Instead I have had time to sit for a little bit longer on my second farseer. I have decided to make the cloak a little bit more intresting and try out some more freehand on it. Also putting more time into the farseer too get a better result, hopefully :)

It will be mountains at the bottom of the cloak and above it a sky with stars, one planet and a nebula or somehting like that.

The base of stars is made and I have started on the mountains. Feedback is very much appriciated since this is the first time that I am trying to make a more "serious" freehand motiv.

Great start mate, I'm not the best at freehand you really need Skel or Milosh.
I would darken the sky with blacks & blues to get a greater divide between the mountains.
