Demihuman's DemiWIP

Yeah lookin great. The lower jaws look awesome. Just do what you can to give them some depth-maybe a sepia glaze around prominent features. But I most love how you'll have a random green or orange scale here and there. I would never have thought of that, so kudos on these. I daresay another epic DH base is in our future.

Thanks all!

It's really fun to paint something that is more organic. There is a lot less guess work about what colors to use and what not. I have been going back in with my whites and starting to build soem transitions from scale to not scale but painting the white gets a little monotonous so I knocked out half of a face. I might go in with a tad more red and a tiny bit of dark blue.

Oh, Protip for the novice painters out there: If you are going to paint an open mouth, paint the tongue first, otherwise it will look like your giant reptile man got lipstick all over his teeth. Ask me how I know.

Yeah, he's looking bad ass! Great face and great colors.

Do you have any uhu glue? Some drool strings on his mouth would be awesome.

Fantastic look Demi, and do you know about the lipstick look as it's happened to you ?

Yeah, everybody knows that: first you load your tongue up with lipstick, then use that to expertly smear it around your general mouth area. What else would a gatordude use to apply his makeup? His hands? Like a barbarian?

That's a pretty critter. The scales are ridiculously good, they look really naturally mottled. And that eye...!

::slow clap::

Great job, my friend. You've really been chugging along with the projects!!!

I have nothing to add. Show this to the sculptor, I'm sure he will get a kick out of it.

Way awesome! Love the natural feel of the scales and the skin - and how sharp you managed to get the eyes. I'm a big fan of painting organics myself, I'm getting a lot of inspiration here.

Excellent model ex Ellenton painting....it's funny when you paint often and start to know what your doing isn't it great how fast you can turn things out....very well done.

It's good, but you are right - red lipstick would be a nice way to set off all that green... I'm sure he thinks of himself as a summer, but I feel like he's more of an autumn really :)
